Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Redink SOR First time builders 902Mar 01, 2015 1:28 pm Yep I've seen them all over. Love them. Just not sure how the wood on stools will look against the island wood. At Home furniture said we could take them home to try out first, but I'm impatient Re: Redink SOR First time builders 903Mar 01, 2015 2:35 pm I've seen those stools too, love them! They have comfy looking matching dining chairs. I think I've seen the best price at At Home. viewtopic.php?t=72683 Re: Redink SOR First time builders 904Mar 01, 2015 3:04 pm Yes absolutely loved the dining chairs but couldn't find the right table. I love At Home. We got our leather modular there. Re: Redink SOR First time builders 905Mar 01, 2015 7:57 pm I saw the chairs displayed at Minkz with a white glass table, looked amazing. But hubby didn't like the table. Re: Redink SOR First time builders 906Mar 01, 2015 8:11 pm Hi ardie - I've found a picture of the back of the same style chair - it also says walnut but it looks much lighter. Colour and light is the most difficult thing over the internet! So not sure this will help you much. I did try to make it a little bit darker, but not having a clue what colour they really are makes it a bit difficult. I could try to make them darker/less red/lighter - let me know if you'd like me to try Are they as light as the pic that I found or are they as dark as the one you sent the link to? This is your pic: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ and this is the one I found Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I've used the sizes provided on the website I found http://www.atlanticshopping.co.uk/bar-stools/alicia-walnut-bar-stool-cream.html to sort of eyeball where the height of the seat goes. It isn't accurate at all but it does look like it should fit 4? That is if they're even the same chair! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ They are beautiful chairs - how lovely of them to allow you to 'try before you buy'! Re: Redink SOR First time builders 907Mar 01, 2015 9:47 pm Oh wow you're the best! I think they are closer in colour to your picture not mine. Which is why we've been hesitant. Not sure how i feel about them against the dark island. They're soooo pretty and comfy though it's not something we need immediately so i think when the flooring is in we'll borrow a few different stools and see. I'm loving the eames stools even more now that I've seen your pics. Thank you!!! Happy Sunday Re: Redink SOR First time builders 908Mar 01, 2015 11:00 pm I was planning to post a link to a review photo, but forgot, you might have already found it on the link I sent. It is a real setting with dark timber flooring, white bench and lighter timber backing: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I think it can work But it would be best if you could see different ones side by side! Are the glazed doors going to be stained or painted have you decided yet? If stained you could try to get the colour close to whatever the colour of the barstools are Re: Redink SOR First time builders 909Mar 02, 2015 7:56 pm Thanks Mal. Yay maybe I'll mix the woods. Who cares really? 😉 we'll actually have light tile in the kitchen/living/dining, dark wood floor everywhere else. Glass doors are getting painted white like rest of doors. Didn't think we'd be able to match to the dark flooring in hallway and then it would look odd. Too many different shades right next to each other. Re: Redink SOR First time builders 910Mar 02, 2015 8:22 pm I think mixing woods is better than having it too matchy matchy Re: Redink SOR First time builders 911Mar 02, 2015 9:18 pm Ohhhhh love the stools Ardie! I definitely think that using different woods is okay. They've had those stools on Temple&Webster or TheHome - can't remember which one Our build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=68804 Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/jadeshereejust/ Instagram: https://instagram.com/jadeshereejust/ Re: Redink SOR First time builders 912Mar 02, 2015 10:18 pm Thanks ladies. I'm not against mixing woods though a bit afraid of too many, but I'm soooo not good at all this styling stuff so really appreciate your feedback. I love T&W justy. Don't know about The Home going to check it out right now! Re: Redink SOR First time builders 913Mar 03, 2015 7:47 am ardie I think you're underestimating yourself - look at all the wonderful things you've chosen for your home, it all looks beautiful so far and each new thing you show us is lovely! Re: Redink SOR First time builders 914Mar 03, 2015 11:08 am I have mixed woods in my FFLiving and with a simple colour scheme overall it seems to tie in fine. Also the dark floor in that pic isn't the "star", the stools are...and some of the lighter planks seem to be similar tones to the stool timber, which really helps. Yes Ardie like Malsannie says, don't worry you are doing great! x Re: Redink SOR First time builders 915Mar 03, 2015 6:07 pm MalSannie ardie I think you're underestimating yourself - look at all the wonderful things you've chosen for your home, it all looks beautiful so far and each new thing you show us is lovely! Thanks Mal. Most of it is a credit to our interior designer and some relatives with a better eye for design, but I think I'm learning. Also feel like we've learned a lot from watching The Block. Whole family is hooked on it:) Texture, texture, texture! Rangehood getting installed today and have booked a final measure for glass splashback on thurs. Also meeting with one of the guys who quoted the cabinetry for our IT nook in the kitchen. The plan is to just have a benchtop to match essastone and some overheads to match the others in warm white. we'll have a hidden cupboard where we had the extra brickwork done to accommodate in the corner for our router etc. Also installing a Formica Magnetic White Board as splashback. Looking to put a wine fridge under the desk. I like having wine in reach while I'm working Re: Redink SOR First time builders 916Mar 03, 2015 7:01 pm Love the idea of that wine fridge and magnetic splashback! Re: Redink SOR First time builders 917Mar 03, 2015 7:15 pm God I wish I had a glass of wine with me at work right now! Re: Redink SOR First time builders 919Mar 03, 2015 9:59 pm Hi Jay how's your build going? Well I hope I'm meeting with Ruben from Alltech cabinets for IT nook, pretty reasonable quote but we'll see after our measure meeting. Landscaping all done through the estate, total eden.
