Such a bummer that you're still having a rough trot. Hopefully they get everything fixed before keys. It would make such a difference if the SS just told them what to fix beforehand as he saw the mistakes rather than waiting for the customers to point it all out...it's almost like it's a game of spotto...if you don't spot, they won't fix hopefully my SS will surprise us all with his attention to detail (well, here's hoping ) I've been off and on a bit so I might have missed this, but have you picked out your living room paint yet? I'm still yet to go and pester the lovely crew at Bunnings for paint selection help and painting tips. Although I think I've finally talked my DH into hiring a professional for the living areas at least Our build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=68804 Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/jadeshereejust/ Instagram: https://instagram.com/jadeshereejust/ Re: Redink SOR First time builders-Almost done, I think 1111May 11, 2015 11:44 pm Jay89 Ardie, what kind of issues did you faced? I think mine should be in couple of weeks time. Hi Jay, that's great news that you'll have PCI soon. Just check everything. Our biggest issues have been with tiling; gaps at the door frames, crooked feature tiles, issues with the grout and mitred edges, uneven on bath hob. Our inspector spotted a lot of it. Also quite a few window frame issues; dents, broken screens, the whole laundry slider and screen need replacing. I do recommend an independent inspector just to help find things you may not know to look for. Good luck. Can't wait to see pics of your new house. Although I think I've finally talked my DH into hiring a professional for the living areas at least Thanks justy. Yep a bit frustrating that we need to point stuff out to get it fixed, but the important thing is that they're fixing it:) I found the staff at the Dulux shop super helpful. Brought in a tile and floorboard sample and they helped me decide. Then had some big sample boards made up to bring to the house. So much better than choosing from the little chip. We're having white duck quarter throughout, except the Master bedroom. Master will be silver grass quarter. Current decision is whether we have the ensuite and WIR to match the master. I'm thinking yes, but not quite sure. Any suggestions? We're hiring painters. Decided it's cheaper than a divorce Re: Redink SOR First time builders-Almost done, I think 1113May 12, 2015 12:00 am Thank you all for continued support. Been flat out with work, kids, life the last couple weeks with all the added anxiety of the house so I'm a bit exhausted. BUT we are getting keys on Friday!!!!! Took a bit of back and forth but they're working hard to get most everything on the list done by then. We feel pretty confident that the major stuff like the tiling, patching and site clean will be done by then so we can at least get our trades in to start painting and paving. They'll finish all the other bits over the next week or so, but before we move in. I've been hesitant to get excited or book trades but after meeting with SS today at the house I think it's a done deal, YAY!!!!!! Now the juggling act of getting paving, painting, tiling, bamboo all done in 2 weeks. We don't want to spend a single minute more than we have to in this awful rental house. I'm getting so bloody excited now😊 Re: Redink SOR First time builders-Almost done, I think 1114May 12, 2015 12:17 am Oh ardie that is super duper fantastic!!! How exciting....keys!!!! It is a seriously exhausting journey really but very rewarding once you start to see your rooms decorated as you imagined. Keep your strength up..the whirlwind is about to hit!! Love white duck quarter! Haha!! And i would definitely carry your silver grass through your ensuite and WIR. Congratulations!!!!!!! Re: Redink SOR First time builders-Almost done, I think 1115May 12, 2015 12:33 am Hi ardie . Congrats on getting your keys soon . 4 more sleeps . I think just the whole new house thing is exhausting lol . Think of your holiday and the end of all this . I can and I'm not even going on a holiday . Ha ha . That's one thing I can visualise he he Re: Redink SOR First time builders-Almost done, I think 1116May 12, 2015 4:54 am OMG ardie I'm SOOOOO happy for you!!!! I'm so glad that you can feel excited about it all again. I realise the hard work starts now, but hopefully it will be just a little bit less stressful than the build turned out to be. I really want to thank you for all your help with our 'journey' (goodness I hate that phrase but it fits!) so far - you've been so very helpful. You may have seen we decided to go with Houspect - mainly based on your recommendation but also because hubs spoke with them on the phone and liked what they had to say! I'm rambling..... all I really wanted to say was : WHOOOPPPP!!! ITS ABOUT BLOODY TIME!!!!! and YAY!!!!! xx Re: Redink SOR First time builders-Almost done, I think 1117May 12, 2015 10:19 am KEYS ON FRIDAY?? You must be sooooo EXCITED!!! Glad you have the mojo back Yay, does it seem a bit surreal after all the fluffing around by the builders??? Yes there's a lot still to do but at least it will be YOURS, whoo hoo!! Silver grass- now that has me searching the net, sounds delightful!!! Re: Redink SOR First time builders-Almost done, I think 1118May 12, 2015 10:44 am Fantastic news - So pleased for you Ardie!! Re: Redink SOR First time builders-Almost done, I think 1119May 12, 2015 11:11 am I am soooooooooooo excited for you Ardie!!! Such a long hard slog but it will be SO worth it once you're in your beautiful home (yes, home...not house !) I can't wait to see pictures once you've got keys. I haven't even thought about my trades schedule...or how long it's actually going to take to paint I think I'll think about that on the weekend...
