Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 06, 2013 4:35 pm Hello all, I am new here in this forum and I was watching a block of slope land 600m2 ( slope from front towards the rear ) My estimate of the slope is around 2-3metres. I wonder if anyone here have experience in building on slope land to suggest a builder? I am thinking of of setting aside a budget of $300-350K to build a 28squares home ( split levels ) Is this a realistic? What are the potential problems in building on slope land? Please leave your comments here!! Re: Building on Slope land and Builders in Melbourne 3Oct 06, 2013 9:03 pm snowing Your budget might be a bit tight. Since building on slope up hill usually cost more than down hill. And also depends on where about you building in Melbourne. Hi snowing, I should clarify, I am building downhill and I am looking at Mulgrave. I will not mind building something between 22-25SQ as well. What is a reasonable budget for a task like this? But you better check to see if there are any restrictions etc for the block. For split level design, you will be looking at custom builders. You can take a look on the net. There are quite a few around. I have tried to talk to Busby and Latitude 37 before (thou I didn't go with either of them at last). You can try those to have some idea. So, Which builder did you go with eventually? Pardon my curiousity. Re: Building on Slope land and Builders in Melbourne 6Oct 07, 2013 9:42 am dejuvu My estimate of the slope is around 2-3metres. Check the slope from http://services.land.vic.gov.au/maps/pmo.jsp (under Build Map --> Victoria --> Contours) - in my experience people tend to under-estimate the slope if you just look at it. What looks like a 3m slope could easily be 6m. Also, would that be over the entire block or over the building envelope? Hi All, We have recently purchased a sloping block (3.5m fall building envelope, 6m overall).
