I have been advised by my local council (Greater Dandenong - Melbourne) that we can build on 60% of our land.
This works out to be 42 squares.
Does this mean that if:
- Single storey house: I could only build a 42 square house
- Double storey house: I could potentially build an 84 square house if I really wanted to
I am typically looking at building a 45 to 50 square house and just wanted to know if that would be possible.

ETA: I have an appointment with someone from my local council this week so will be asking them then, but in the meantime was hoping someone could shed some light, so that I could start looking at floor plans larger than 42 squares
