PCI is less than 2 weeks away for us in Brabham Where are you building Jemima P? Did you make many changes? I would say Silvarbullit build would be done and dusted going by the date of the last post. Yes, absolutely finished. Unfortunately was very busy with work during the build so didn't have a lot of time to keep updating the thread but hopefully the last couple of hours has made up for it for everyone who was interested. Good luck with your build, Eden is a fanstic house! They at least give an idea to the layout of the house. Living area, dining, bedrooms 2/3/4, bathroom, toilet Theatre room Master bedroom, walk through robe, ensuite, drop zone, laundry. Looks fab ( My folks have it in their place also) I like the idea of of the frosted film for the front door. Just wasn't sure about what it would look like until now. Who did you get to do it for you and roughly how much if you don't mind me asking? Hopefully I'll be pulling my finger out and uploading my build soon Re: Eden by Dale Alcock in Aveley - Complete 49Mar 30, 2015 2:52 am Ok here is the start of my build for anyone that is interested? Probably a few hundred dollars at most. I still have to go back and paint over the spakfilled nail holes and cut ends from when it was installed. There is nothing better than a grand entrance way. Those lights are amazing. I really like that feature light in the front entrance too I was really excited to see your floors too. Are they the raw engineered? We have put down a deposit for them and will be having them in our home. I just love them. Especially love those feature windows in the house too.. love the big long ones and that light on the one in the bathroom looks sooo good! You must be really enjoying your beautiful home! Re: Eden by Dale Alcock in Aveley - Complete 57Apr 04, 2015 10:46 pm Thanks jelbell, it's definitely turned out to be a nice house! Bit hard to imagine on paper when I first started. I'll have to get around to taking some proper photos soon, iPhone camera doesn't do it justice at times. The floors are engineered boards in spotted gum and aren't solid raw floor boards if that helps. The brand is called "Big River" and it's Australian wood. Is also the same brand DAH use for their wooden floors in the display homes and was laid by the same company. I can give you the details around how much it cost and who laid it if you like, the flooring company were awesome and it looks fantastic. We too are hoping our ideas on paper also turn out the way we have pictured them! Yes we are getting the big river too spotted gum. The company we have gone through have been absolutely fantastic. We were very lucky to get them because apparently they are in short supply and won't be around for awhile due to a fire that was in the warehouse where they make them. So we were forced to make the purchase now and got one of the last batches so feeling REALLY lucky. And the company are happy to store them until needed. Sorry I did mean the raw finish rather than the prefinish... we are going for the raw so they lay then sand and coat (not the ones that already have the coat), they are the same one's as yours aren't they? I just love them in the display homes (reason for choice!) but I am extra excited about seeing them in your home because they look just as I had imagined. Can't wait for some more pics!! Yup they are raw boards that are sanded/polished after laying. I didn't know there were engineered prefinished floor boards, only things I saw like that were bamboo or laminates (ick). I love the wood flooring, its beautiful. Would you mind telling me if you have scotia around the kitchen island? We are considering engineered boards or bamboo and have been told by a number of people - whether we get them laid by our builder and especially after handover scotia will be needed to cover the expansion gap - but it looks like you laid your boards after handover and I can't see any scotia? thanks! I built with EB back on 2009. Check out this thread on this forum. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=12911&p=154061#p154061 I can't speak for recent expericience however, we had no… 1 22126 |
