Im the first time building, but hubby built about 8 years ago and he was really againist the idea as there were lots of troubles, but we found the land in a great location. so he gave in. hehe
Been waiting for a long long time since we signed with 101 residential. eventually something is happening. I thought why not start a building thread to share our experience with everyone. the long wait did cost us not be able to claim the 10k of the stamp duty back from buying the land.
We bought the land in Nov 2012 near we were renting at that time
Signed PCQ with 101 residential in Jan 2013
and We got kicked out rental property with no reason at all in Feb 2013 with our wedding was just around corner which was in March
we moved to another rental (big big big headache with hubby FIFO and dad is coming over for the wedding) and 2 weeks later, we got married in March (happiest day of my life)
We had our pre-start late June
and eventually there is something started! very excited! but only found out the sewer pipe caused big trouble in sand shifting and caused neighbour's fence shifting!
Apart from the long waiting time, other experience with 101 wasnot bad at all. our sales rep was Daniel, and pre-start consultant was Jacqui, and now we are dealing with Silvia. they have been quite helpful in general. there were few hipcups along the way from time to time due to miss-communications. such as when we purchased the freestanding bath rose, they quoted us $800 to install it after we payed the deposit on the bath rose, because no one mentioned about the difference the freestanding and wall mounted one.
but really, the whole experience was not bad at all, prob because we both kinda go with the flow, not really stressed about it.
