Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Porter Davis Dunes 29 - TILES FINISHED (HEAPS OF PICS!) 201May 08, 2014 5:17 pm Has anyone got Zincalum roof gutters? During the color selection we were given sample colorbond color metal piece with Jasper color (what we selected). In the contract under color selection, it says Colorbond Jasper. However our BC now tell us it's going to be Zincalum and will be painted. According to BC if we are to have colorbond it's an upgrade. Appreciate if someone can tell whether this is the normal or something is wrong? Re: Porter Davis Dunes 29 - TILES FINISHED (HEAPS OF PICS!) 202May 08, 2014 6:22 pm I think your floor tiles look great I could be biased though as they're a very similar colour to mine Is your garage door colour Monument? I think it looks great. Hash, are your bricks homestead buff? Our downipes are zincalume, however the bermuda is the advantage range, rather than lifestyle like ours. which means the standard inclusions are just a little bit different. Just check your contract... They will look fine once painted though. Everyone else... WE HAVE FLOORS... and... THEY LOOK AWESOME!... they look basically black in photos though. so will do a post with heaps of pics on Saturday when we can get daylight pics. We also have half our plumbing done, and shower screens . We are incredibly happy with our colour selections now it has all come together... We received final invoice today, so I guess we are really down to the last few weeks now... Re: Porter Davis Dunes 29 - FLOORS ALL DONE! (HEAPS OF PICS! 206May 12, 2014 10:05 am Sorry for the delayed post Guys, The past week and a bit has been fantastic. But unfortunately its been hard to get good progress shots of the house because its normally dark when we visit. So, Without further adieu... On Monday we had the electricians start, They cant work at the same time as other trades so are yet to finish, but we expect it to all be completed next week. On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, all of our floor coverings were done. Bolero and Carpet - They look awesome and out colour scheme is finally all fitting together . We also had the plumbing start on Tuesday, So sinks and mixers are in, We are just waiting on the bathtub, butlers pantry sink and main bathroom shower head now. On Friday we had the site leveled and cleaned up a bit (just the loo and fence needs to be taken away now), The brickwork caulked, Shower screens installed, and the sparkies worked for a bit too. So whats left? Just a little bit to finish up for the electricians and plumbers, Mirrors, Wardrobe fit outs, front door painted and some touch ups(tiling, concrete, paint). No really. That's all. On a "not related to the build but still related to our new home note" This week we purchased a letterbox so we are ready come moving day, Our theatre curtain arrived, so I got to have a sticky beak at Eureka Curtains & Blinds (Highly recommend them if you are in the area!), We just spent half the day dog proofing the yard. Only half finished, but exhaustion took over and we will go back next Saturday to finish up.... So now its time for the important part.... Only half finished, but exhaustion took over and we will go back next Saturday to finish up.... Hi there, we have also started looking for a place to get the curtains, blinds & shutters. At the moment our plans is to get sheers and roman blinds. Perhaps a plantation shutter to master bedroom. We thought curtains would be old style but not sure if there are any modern styles available out there. Personally I like the idea of having sheer curtains with a nice rod on top of shutters. But my partner think curtains are old school Here is the list of places we found so far. http://www.interluxdesign.com/ - Berwick http://intoblinds.com.au/ http://www.theblindfactory.com.au/ https://www.facebook.com/bassshuttersandblinds http://www.victory.com.au/ http://www.dollarcurtains.com.au/ Re: Porter Davis Dunes 29 - On the Home Stretch 214May 19, 2014 3:34 pm our houses are similar colours on the inside glad to know we chose well hahaha! YOur site clean on the front is MUCH MUCH nicer than ours Re: Porter Davis Dunes 29 - On the Home Stretch 215May 21, 2014 7:41 pm Hi guys, Well, today marks the big day... and by big day I mean the day that was 'supposed' to be the last possible day to handover. So Porter Davis are now paying us damages for each day we wait. The house is completely done apart from the bathtub (and a few tiny electrical items to be pointed out at PCI). So the Certificate of Occupancy inspection cant take place till the tub is installed, and our bank wont do the final valuation till they have the certificate. its a domino effect which is now blowing out our handover date till mid June. Not happy. We just cant believe that PD are holding everything up over something as standard as a bathtub. But all we can do is sit and wait now. Super hard to try and rent out a house we are living in at the same time as planning a move, when we don't even have a date to pick the moving truck! PCI is next week so we will give another update then... Re: Porter Davis Dunes 29 - On the Home Stretch 216May 23, 2014 12:47 pm Sorry to hear about the delay and hopefully you will be able to complete PCI next week. This means you need to change the schedule of other arrangements you have made to relocate. So far our build is on track and they have completed tiles (almost). Kitchen is looking good now with the upgraded flashback tiles. Colour is bit different though it doesn't look too bad. Re: Porter Davis Dunes 29 - On the Home Stretch 217May 26, 2014 9:41 pm Hi hash, Your splashback tiles are looking great. The colour looks good! Our bathtub has finally gone in, and 2 sleeps left till PCI... Fingers crossed we have handover on the 4th of June...
