Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Porter Davis Dunes 29 - GOT THE KEYS! 241Jun 17, 2014 6:48 am I love your idea of having a kitchen sink inside walk in pantry. It's going to be very useful and also the best way to fully utilize the space. We are thinking of NBN as well. Had a look at the website and found IINET as one of the good service providers. Unfortunately TPG is not there which we have our current service with. I was wondering who would connect the cable from the underground lines ? is that IINET or someone else? Not sure how long it would take for them to establish the service. We have gone with Exetel for our NBN connection, due to the fact they are one of the only providers that have an unlimited plan (it's pretty cheap, and I've heard fairly good things about them). What happens is your provider will contact the NBNco on your behalf to organise the connection to the fibre. They will dig the trench if they have to (if your builder hasn't done it), they will put the outside NBN box on your house, and take the fibre through your house into the NBN box (generally inside your garage). Our builder put in the NBN box and ran a Lead-In conduit from the side of the house to the NBN box, so the NBNco guys just need to get it to the Lead-In conduit and can then pull it through to the NBN box in the garage. The prices are quite higher than Exetel though (they offer a phone in their bundle which I don't want). We have gone with Exetel for our NBN connection We haven't been connected yet. Though, it's no fault of Exetel's - it is the fault of our council whom have told NBN they must cease all work until their contractors fix up problems they have already caused in the area. Not ideal for us, and getting quite irritated. They reckon nothing is going to happen until the 17th of July!
