Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Oakdene estate ,Ocean Grove 4Jul 30, 2014 8:25 am Hi Wazza, Extremely late to the party but yep - I am building in Oakdene too! Have only just signed the PWC but there's plenty of houses going up around the block at the moment. The estate itself seems to be moving along quite quickly. Out of curiosity, I enquired about the current stage and the pricing for the blocks for sale last week and they had 6 left for sale in stage 4, all at a higher price than the earlier stages (same block measurements) - so things are looking in good shape! 26/07/2014 - PWC signed 07/11/2014 - Contract signed 21/11/2014 - Site start 5/12/2014 - Slab 11/12/2014 - Frame 23/01/2015 - External Lock-up Re: Oakdene estate ,Ocean Grove 5Jul 30, 2014 6:44 pm Hi THEmc yes we moved in a couple of months ago. Things are good nice estate. Only issue is you have to go to the post office to get your mail apparently until there is a set number of houses . Who are you building with Yeh I've got a couple of friends in the estate having to do the same thing! Also a bit of a struggle for the Pizza delivery drivers I'm building with Boutique - hopefully done by late this year/early next year and can help with the whole 'number of houses' requirement 26/07/2014 - PWC signed 07/11/2014 - Contract signed 21/11/2014 - Site start 5/12/2014 - Slab 11/12/2014 - Frame 23/01/2015 - External Lock-up Re: Oakdene estate ,Ocean Grove 7Apr 22, 2015 10:58 am I'm late to the conversation, but I just bought a block at Oakdene Estate and have been told I need a slab upgrade when I build. I understand this is something that often happens whether it's needed or not. Just wondering what everyone else's experience is in regard to slab type required. Re: Oakdene estate ,Ocean Grove 8Apr 25, 2015 10:34 pm Hello, If your allotment had fill then fill certificates would be available in your contract of sale. If these cannot be located then just email Oakdene@morgangriffin.com.au and request the same. Generally the following statement is included in the fill certificate and may assist the engineer with their design. As allowed for Section 2.5.3 © of AS 2870-2011, and as the fill has been placed and compacted in accordance with Level One supervision requirements, a reclassification assessment of the site using engineering principles should result in a site classification which is consistent with the natural ground conditions for the overall site. Were looking to buy in Oakdene stage 10 and also looking to build with Boutique. Cheers. Ben Re: Oakdene estate ,Ocean Grove 10Jul 20, 2017 1:04 pm Hi All, New to the party and just purchased land. The estate is looking great and moving along nicely. I hope by now there is a mail service At this stage we plan to start building next year but in the meantime trying to get as much information to make the build as smooth sailing. Completely new to the area and very excited for the move. Interested about orientation to suit the local climate. We have a south east facing corner block and having a hard time deciding to make the backyard on the North-West side / South West. Your Future Neighbours |
