They were busy working on the acrylic render today but we'll have to wait till Sunday before we can visit the house again. Dukecaddy Congrats on lock up! Is that dumped furniture out the front?? Its exciting finally seeing the cabinets go in. Re: Switch Homes 270 Bayswater - Cabinets 150Oct 21, 2014 6:50 pm What colour are the white ones (yes, strange question )? Re: Switch Homes 270 Bayswater - Cabinets 151Oct 22, 2014 3:39 pm Dukecaddy What colour are the white ones (yes, strange question )? Not strange at all! There's white and then there's white. Anyway ours are Polytec polar white sheer melamine, which has a slightly more cream tinge when compared to a bright white. Re: Switch Homes 270 Bayswater - Cabinets 152Oct 28, 2014 11:01 pm We've been in Adelaide for a week and got back today and I made sure we stopped off at the house on the way home from the airport. The kitchen overhead cupboards were being put up the day we left and there are just a few finishing of bits and pieces that need to be done. Luckily (for us) the alfresco sliding door wasn't locked so we could get in today to see that the screeding has been done in all the wet areas and the bath bricked in, most of the painting is done - ceilings, cornices, doors and door frames. We've got a tile meeting Friday morning and the water proofing is scheduled for this week too. All the acrylic render and the stack stone is finished and the outside ceiling painting has been started. We seem to be all go! It certainly getting exciting again. Re: Switch Homes 270 Bayswater - Tiling 156Nov 04, 2014 11:48 pm Dukecaddy Façade is looking great Thanks Dukecaddy We had our tile meeting last Friday and made it into a "why is this here" meeting with the SS on a few things too. It all went well and we got a quote from the tiler to do the porcelain tiles downstairs for us. So we'll just wait till he's finished to make sure we're happy with the tiling but it looks good so far. The grano was done on Friday too and it turns out they do aggregate so we're getting a quote for that. Turned out to be a very useful meeting all round! Except... That when we went on Saturday to see the tile progress they had used the bathroom floor tiles on the laundry floor! The tile shop didn't deliver the laundry floor tiles and none of us checked on Friday and the tilers didn't check the name of the tiles just the size. After too-ing and fro-ing we decided to leave them as they match the laundry bench top really well. The other tile we had picked was trying to be a close match to the porcelain tile going downstairs and we decided to go for the contrast and it means there's one less colour happening now too. I finally asked about a handover date and our SS said he was trying to get it before Christmas for us but by the time he'd considered the number of weeks left its not looking likely. The house will most likely be pretty much finished though, we'll just have to wait till the New Year for actual handover. We've got heaps to get done after anyway so even if we got keys at Christmas we wouldn't be moving straight in. The stone bench tops have all gone in and the basins and sinks. Most of the tiling is done in the bathrooms and laundry - just waiting on some plumbing and electrical I think before they can be finished and the kitchen started. Really happy with the way its all coming together!
