Browse Forums Building A New House Re: AM I ROBBED? 21Sep 19, 2013 8:53 am Mine cost me about $4,000 for a 3000ltr Slimline, concrete footing, pump, mains/rainwater diverter and plumbing to laundry, toilets and a external tap on opposite side of house. Re: AM I ROBBED? 22Sep 19, 2013 10:58 am Cameron32 Mate, most of the project builders charged too much on the Basix requirements and site cost I know. Unfortunately, most people accept it and the poor workmanship that most often goes with it because they lack industry and regulatory knowledge but some are prepared to do the homework first. The OP has the choice of going with a $12,000 costing or doing the homework now and save heaps plus get a quality install. littlefox80, When I built, I had the (pattern paved) driveway laid after the house was finished. It was much cheaper. I also supplied the taps etc, light fittings, the front door and a friend also designed the kitchen (the house was my design). The builder and I had a good understanding and there were no problems or arguments. Set the boundaries while you have the power and don't forget that you are doing them the favour by providing the work. Sometimes they need reminding. 3in1 Supadiverta. Re: AM I ROBBED? 24Oct 17, 2013 3:47 pm For Qld homes, is it by law that new houses needs to have a Water Tank installed? Are Project Builder require to install water tank as part of the inclusion in the contract? or this is something that I can do later on? (of coz the need for the builder to make sure the gutter and water collection etc etc is designed in from the start) Re: AM I ROBBED? 25Oct 17, 2013 4:00 pm lovepub, It used to be law. I think it depends on your local council. I am currently building and I am not getting a water tank. Probably a good thing, the yard is small enough as it is lol. I mean watertank is good if it's all connected and doesn't blow out the budget. $5000 dollars is probably a couple years or more of water bill in my opinion. Re: AM I ROBBED? 27Oct 17, 2013 8:14 pm Yeah, I am building in Brisbane. Local council is Moreton Bay. I think the builder will look into it. My salesperson knew. They are worth the money. Re: AM I ROBBED? 28Oct 19, 2013 10:02 am lovepub For Qld homes, is it by law that new houses needs to have a Water Tank installed? The mandate was repealed in February this year. You are much better off doing a little research and having a tank installed after the build. 3in1 Supadiverta. Rainwater Harvesting Best Practice using syphonic drainage.
