Bet you can't wait now not long at all!! Have you got lots to do before you move in or are you going to try move straight away? Re: Building with Redink - PCI is tomorrow (3rd Sept)!!! 145Sep 03, 2014 4:49 pm Rosienchris Congratulations that's fantastic news!!!! Bet you can't wait now not long at all!! Have you got lots to do before you move in or are you going to try move straight away? I'm hoping it wont seem like the longest 2 weeks! We have found a painter that can do us a great deal so we've decided to outsource that after getting a quote for paint we won't save a whole lot doing it ourselves. So that should be started the week we get the keys. We have Vinyl plank on lay-by at Carpet Court (it's been on lay-by for 18months now!) and we just ordered carpet through them also. We need to give them 3 weeks notice so once the painter confirms a start date we will get that booked in. My husband in organising LED lighting to the main living area and kitchen. And we also plan to go with a quote we got from Westlock Security for screens so that too will take about 3 weeks to order. So hopefully it will just be a week or 2 after handover and we can move in! Been living out of suitcases since July 2013 so we really are ready to just have a place to call 'home'. It's been a long journey but the end is in sight That's awesome sounds like you've got it all sorted, you guys are not going to know yourselves when you move in and can spread out, fill up cupboards and pantry and live normally in a place that is all yours!!! Will be so good for you! A huge credit to you for living out of suitcases and moving around, you've done a fab job with two kids and now being pregnant it is going to be bliss when you get those keys and you deserve it so much! Sounds like it's been a long haul and you've been patient. Let us know how you go with the painter, always looking for a good affordable one. There's no way we could do it ourselves with killing each other I'm sure it'll be a hectic few weeks but the end is SO close! Good luck Re: Building with Redink - PCI is tomorrow (3rd Sept)!!! 149Sep 11, 2014 12:18 am We received confirmation from our bank today that the final Payment has been cleared so we're just waiting to hear from CLO/SS as to when we can collect keys! And beautiful feeling baby's first kicks today! The best feeling in the world! Re: Building with Redink - PCI is tomorrow (3rd Sept)!!! 153Sep 12, 2014 9:51 pm Finally heard from our CLO and a little dissapointed that our air-con and hot water system are stil to be installed! Apparently this will happen on Tuesday but I'm sure they've told us this for the past 3wks! Only positive is they will upgrade our hot water system as the one on order hasn't come in. We were expecting keys next week and have arranged a painter for Friday so hopefully this can still go ahead as we need painter to start so we can arrange installation of floors (which need 2-3wks notice). On a side note... Anyone got a good recommendation of a nice white paint that we could do throughout the house? We used 'Parchment' in out old house which I loved but my hubby is suggesting a slightly brighter white. Thoughts? Re: Building with Redink - PCI is tomorrow (3rd Sept)!!! 154Sep 13, 2014 10:28 pm Sorry beejandcait I can't help with the pain colour but would be interested in what others suggest. Sorry to hear your aircon and hws has been delayed, but yay for the upgrade! Reckon it'll be much better over the long run so maybe a blessing in disguise Re: Building with Redink - PCI is tomorrow (3rd Sept)!!! 155Sep 14, 2014 9:48 am china white is nice!! Re: Building with Redink - PCI is tomorrow (3rd Sept)!!! 156Sep 14, 2014 11:15 pm Fingers crossed for you that you get keys on time! As for paint...we agonised over picking the 'right white' for sooo long! Ended up going with lexicon quarter and the first coat looks good! Re: Building with Redink - PCI is tomorrow (3rd Sept)!!! 157Sep 17, 2014 9:59 pm 2 weeks ago we were told we could expect our keys by the 17th September (latest) well today came and went... no keys! Apparently neither our air-conditioner or our hot water unit was installed on tuesday. We've been told the air-con WILL go in tomorrow but are slightly skeptical as that is the 4th date we've been given for it's installation. As for when the hot water unit will be installed... we don't know but the older unit was finally delivered so we no longer get the upgrade. As we were told to expect the keys by the 17th we arranged our painter for the 19th. So SS is allowing him to still go in and paint but RI said tradies can't be there when external tradies are there so I presume this will delay the hot water system and the clean up from happening which in turn delays the hand over of keys. My hubby has arranged for our floors (Vinyl Plank & Carpet) to be installed early Oct (3rd) so he is trying to help me see the positive side that we wouldn't have actually been able to move in before that anyway. Our painted asked us to choose from the Solver Paint collections and I think we have decided to go with 'First Snow' as the white throughout the whole house. Then we will have one feature wall in the main living area 'Stone Washed' (kinda a dark greyish teal) and then we will have the same colour in our master bedroom as a feature wall. Then 2 of the bedrooms will be painted 'Teal Grey' (its a lighter more subtle colour) which matches the nursery material and my boys Robot duvet sets (ordered over 1.5years ago!) The 3rd bedroom won't have a feature wall as we will set this up as a guest room with the idea to move DS1 into this room when he outgrows sharing with DS2. Though we haven't seem much forward movement with the house this week the highlight was def. seeing our bubba in growing at a scan for the first time. I'm very thankful for a healthy heart beat and my husband was very thankful that there was only 1 heart beat as this is our 3rd and final bubba Our First Build with Redink Found Block - 09/2012 Titles - 09/2013 Interior Design - 19/09/13 Prestart - 01/10/13 Building Permit - 04/01/14 Site Works - 7/02/14 Slab... Re: Building with Redink - PCI is tomorrow (3rd Sept)!!! 158Sep 18, 2014 3:17 am Oh what a shame re the delays The colours sounds great, I love teal and grey so it must be a winner! I'm so happy to hear about the healthy heartbeat - puts things in perspective doesn't it. It is so much more important than a week left or right Re: Building with Redink - PCI is tomorrow (3rd Sept)!!! 159Sep 22, 2014 10:21 am So sorry to hear about the delays but great that your painter could still get access that's the main thing! Hopefully you'll see keys this week? Congratulations on a healthy heartbeat too! Such an amazing feeling!
