The facade you chose looks really good.
How long did it take you to get the contract? How long after that was the site start? Re: Our Journey Flagstone - We are In!!!!! 7May 07, 2008 11:05 am its been about 5 months of paperwork and we still haven't signed the final plans but building has commenced.
Structuraly the plans are fine but painting colours etc are still being finalised. In total about 6 months from initial deposit when we secured the promo and prices. Re: Our Journey Flagstone - We are In!!!!! 9May 08, 2008 9:08 pm We are on the 5th month now after the first deposit. And yet I havent seen any contract or made any selection. We have only finished listing the add-ons we wanted.
Do you guys think this is normal? I'm thinking it would take another month or 2 before I can actually see the contract. \/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/ Re: Our Journey Flagstone - We are In!!!!! 11May 09, 2008 12:06 pm Congratulations miss81....you must be so excited to have it finally start!
It,s been nearly 10 months since we signed up and paid our deposit and fingers crossed they are due to start in 3 weeks!!! The paperwork stage has just been so frustrating...how can it take so long? Thank goodness it only took 3 weeks to go through council! Anyway...I really look forward to following your progress and good luck with everything Cheers Mel Building on 9 acres Re: Our Journey Flagstone - We are In!!!!! 12May 09, 2008 1:48 pm We're building (or plan to, at any rate) the Milan 2900 MKII, though we've removed all the MKII bits. We changed the kitchen, master bedroom, master ensuite (removed that silly courtyard thing) and extended the home theatre by 3m to match the boundary of the garage at the front.
Simonds did warn us that the paperwork before the build usually takes about 2 months longer than the build itself. We have our first colour appointment next week and we have a site start of August. Re: Our Journey Flagstone - We are In!!!!! 13May 09, 2008 9:53 pm Hmm... paperworks is normally 2 months longer than build?
Well, we'd gladly accept that if only they told us that up front. Based on what they told me, Contract should be ready in 4 weeks. and its now 6+ months! With no end in sight. Not even color selection, electricals, etc are anywhere in sight... Well, hope things work out better for you. \/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/ Re: Our Journey Flagstone - We are In!!!!! 14May 10, 2008 5:42 pm dembi_2000 Hmm... paperworks is normally 2 months longer than build? OMG that's shocking. they are pretty lazy but sometimes you need to send a really rude email (like i did), to get the ball rolling. And if that doesn't work, ring head office and demand to speak to the big boss! Re: Our Journey Flagstone - We are In!!!!! 15May 10, 2008 5:46 pm Sharee Hi miss81 we are building the Flagstone 2150 with Simonds, due for a site start in the next month. It will be good to see the progress of a smilar house! Wow, how exciting. Can't wait to see the development. Does it look similar to our facade? I know the interior is a bit different. Actually the flagston2150 is based on a smaller version of another house on display(with a different nme). And i can't remember the name!!!! But we were soooo close to building that, but it went over our easement, so had to give it a miss Can't wait! Re: Our Journey Flagstone - We are In!!!!! 16May 13, 2008 12:18 pm Our facade are similar but we have three vertical windows in the place of your two horizontal ones. We only have a single front door and the pillars of our porch are rendered not stone. I love the floorplan of the 2400 but it just wasn't the right fit for our land. Our interiors are different but share some design elements like the alcoves and bulk head in the kitchen. Anyway I look forward to seeing your progress! Re: Our Journey Flagstone - We are In!!!!! 17Jun 04, 2008 11:05 am Well after blogging for a few weeks, i can't be bothered with it all so I have decided to jump back onto the forum and continue updating on here
So here we go.... The slab was poured on May 10th and then it sat there for about 13 days and settled. it was the longest 13 day wait!!!!! http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x172/katykat_m/net1-1.jpg Here is the front facade of our house. The windows are wrong... getting it sorted out http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x172/katykat_m/Copyofmay08023.jpg This is what it should look like in the end! We will have a timber entry door with rice paper glass and our garage door will have horizontal slats. http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x172/katykat_m/CopyofPicture032.jpg And here is the side, where we will eventually deck and use as our living/entertaining. The sliding doors are wrong too They should be stacker alfresco and opening in opposite directions. http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x172/katykat_m/Copyofmay08007.jpg This is the other side of the house. All the windows here are correct http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x172/katykat_m/Copyofmay08017.jpg And this is the study. The window is not centred. It isn't even centred in the floorplans if you look closely. So I wrote a friendly email informing my CSO that having the window off centre was not an upgraded option and we were not asked about this. Let's see what they do about this http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x172/katykat_m/Copyofmay08024.jpg Re: Our Journey Flagstone - We are In!!!!! 19Jun 04, 2008 11:20 am More ,more, more.....
I'll add a picture of our floorplan soon. Need to scan it first. Our entry: When you walk in you see a wall, not straight into the family room. I think this is what sold me http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x172/katykat_m/Copyofmay08026.jpg Here it is in the display home. http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x172/katykat_m/Copyofmisc046.jpg And the floorplan http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x172/katykat_m/floorplan.jpg Any advice on how to ensure the kit home granny flat that im thinking of buying will get council approval. The kit home companys wont release plans without a deposit and… 0 7114 of course there are legal avenues. You've already mentioned it. Sue them. I find it odd that lawyers wouldnt be willing to take on the case, given CCT evidence and… 1 23616 "Losers" "humanity" "off time" "your" "top notch" "love symbol" Sounds like ponzo is done using other people's toilets 36 23738 |
