Browse Forums Building A New House Re: The optima with Aussie living. Lawley estate. Ellenbrook 21Sep 18, 2013 10:04 pm Sorry to hear it didn't go well. Undermount sink for the standard was around $300 but we went for a Clark one which I think was $699. Wall next to fridge and cabinets above (space is 1m) was around $1000 Second piece of essa stone was about $2300 Chrome wastes ill have to check but I think a couple of hundred.... If you want exact costs let me know, prices shouldn't have changed that much since November! We ended up making changes after prestart because we weren't happy! I was quite annoyed at the lack of assistance but also not letting us know what we could upgrade, I had to constantly ask! I had to argue that I wanted the same tiles from our bathrooms in the toilet and laundry not their living area tiles!! She was trying to tell me it wasn't possible! I also wanted colourbond gutters and facia, apparently don't do it even as an upgrade! Re: The optima with Aussie living. Lawley estate. Ellenbrook 22Sep 19, 2013 9:52 pm thats strange, i thought it would be neccessary to be able to provide colourbond gutters and facias. The lady is trying to tell me about adding a gas point now is too hard! but they will let me add or move a tap? they said it has to goto engineers, to energy efficiency? put it outside of the wall, i will return it through the wall later on? anyone else done this? its strange some things they tell you. i read plans for a living, speak to engineers and architects every day! and the person dealing with my plans is telling me the wrong thing? I'm actually really confused and feel like my house is being built by children! The only good one i have dealt with so far is the person that i signed up with... Re: The optima with Aussie living. Lawley estate. Ellenbrook 24Sep 19, 2013 9:57 pm Sounds like us. Sales guy was the only helpful one! The problem with the gas point is that you will have already been assessed for 6 star energy rating and a gas point inside impacts this due to the vents you have to have in the house. Our sales guy mentioned being able to run the piping to where we wanted it and capping.... Not sure... Re: The optima with Aussie living. Lawley estate. Ellenbrook 25Sep 19, 2013 10:29 pm i wanted it capped at the end, thats what i want. was it expensive to run one outside! it seems like a big hassle, if i want one, its simple, i want one! Re: The optima with Aussie living. Lawley estate. Ellenbrook 26Sep 19, 2013 10:40 pm We didn't end up doing it so can't help on that one kind of wish we had done it as we didn't really consider our heating options. Though I'm thinking/hoping it wouldn't be too hard to add in to a double brick wall, one whole side of our living/dining is double brick Re: The optima with Aussie living. Lawley estate. Ellenbrook 27Sep 20, 2013 12:02 am its not hard, just fiddly. easier to dig around outside of house. lay piping from hot water, but more expensive... Re: The optima with Aussie living. Lawley estate. Ellenbrook 28Sep 20, 2013 11:18 pm Asj25. How much was it to do that.? Re: The optima with Aussie living. Lawley estate. Ellenbrook 33Sep 22, 2013 5:33 pm Looks good! Are you going to extend the ensuite vanity? My only word of warning is don't put it right up to the shower unless you put in nib walls, otherwise you end up with the bench top almost up to the shower screen and a small 5cm wise gap between screen and vanity, I can already imagine to dirt getting in there and and sure how ill get it out!! Also consider the kitchen layout. We pushed out oven closer to the fridge and pantry so we had a long stretch of bench on one side and also put the sink closer to one end (its under mount so there is about 50cm from edge of island to sink then we get a nice stretch of bench to the other side). Looks like you'll still have a great backyard!! Re: The optima with Aussie living. Lawley estate. Ellenbrook 34Sep 22, 2013 9:19 pm we were looking around for something with a big backyard still. partner wants a pool. i would like a shed. we extended the ensuite vanity. but left a 150mm gap in between. did the same with the kitchen sink! pushed it to the left close to the end. undermount aswell. they want 1000$ to extend the ensuite! bit expensive i think! Re: The optima with Aussie living. Lawley estate. Ellenbrook 35Sep 22, 2013 11:01 pm It cost us a little over $1000 for the wall by the fridge and the cupboards above! Not sure where that money went!! The prices for some things are excessive!! Re: The optima with Aussie living. Lawley estate. Ellenbrook 36Sep 24, 2013 12:48 am Well it's been close to a week and prestart is still not finished yet. Always waiting for Aussie to reply. Always asking for anyone to call back but no one does. Re: The optima with Aussie living. Lawley estate. Ellenbrook 37Sep 24, 2013 12:27 pm Hi Scott We are building an amended version of The optima with Aussie living in lexia, had a Few delays with the rain over the last few weeks but all is going well, a friend of mine is having lots of hassles with getting information from Aussie living, but i Think I Must have the efficient one in the office! Always getting answers to my questions! And there has been a lot of them!!! Re: The optima with Aussie living. Lawley estate. Ellenbrook 38Sep 24, 2013 1:53 pm Scott it sounds like you are dealing with similar people to us Just continue to follow up. It will all come together, eventually! Also check all the paperwork when it does come through that it is right. We had a few errors, took 3 goes to get it right! Though I think we did have 63 changes in total by the end... Re: The optima with Aussie living. Lawley estate. Ellenbrook 39Sep 24, 2013 9:33 pm I think we must all have the same people, we are into our 4th week of waiting for water corp and energy efficiency approvals which apparently take 2-3 weeks :/ Hope you get your pre start sorted, did you end up upgrading the carpet? Re: The optima with Aussie living. Lawley estate. Ellenbrook 40Sep 24, 2013 10:27 pm No upgrade yet. Still waiting for replies. I called today. Got to speak to someone. But still no answer. I have asked only a few questions and still not many answers. I am wondering to request to change the person I am dealing with. I already had my energy approval. Took 6 weeks. Longer than normal. Don't know why, I reckon they forgot to send mine. Was a bit long for something's. My land is titled now. Been for few weeks. Would be good to know when everyone else around the area is building. And what there building. I hope no does the same driveway as me. Will be first one in Perth, I think. I would be wary. Is you site demilished but nothing else done?
