Browse Forums Building A New House Re: New Build in Gisborne Vic 41Mar 07, 2014 6:26 am Yay! I was so excited when I saw out plumbing!! Knowing that was our water all set up haha Re: New Build in Gisborne Vic 43Mar 27, 2014 6:38 am Things have slowed down a bit. Plaster has just started due to some things that had to be moved. (Heating guy didn't look at the plans) No biggie though. Plaster work started yesterday so we are back in the game. They are saying that it will take about 4 weeks for plaster work to be done/ready for paint so that’s not so bad. After plaster done, floors will be sanded then stained. Interior will then be painted and fit out can then start, kitchen, tiling, bathrooms etc Then outside will be painted. Carpet has been ordered so that will be one of the last things to go in. Re: New Build in Gisborne Vic 44Mar 27, 2014 9:35 am Glad to hear things are speeding up for you!! Can't wait to see those floor boards all finished Re: New Build in Gisborne Vic 45Apr 08, 2014 7:35 am Progress! All the plaster has been hung except for around the roof windows. They should get done over the next week. Next will be the skirting and cornicing. With the plaster being hung, it really shows the definition of the house. House look smaller due to not being able to see through the framework. It is a good room. Very open which was the key for the design. If you open all the doors, it extends onto the decking outside. Best part of the house. (my garage runs a very close second) A Re: New Build in Gisborne Vic 48Apr 08, 2014 5:38 pm Hi. When are they telling you handover will be? Things look to be moving ahead at a reasonable pace. Re: New Build in Gisborne Vic 52Apr 11, 2014 9:11 am stayxtrue Looking great!! It's all coming together nicely Getting there. Pace is starting to get going again. Just had a quote for the driveway and some retaining walls to be done. Fell off my chair. I need to find the nearest back with low security so I can rob it to pay for the quote. Looks like I will learn to build a driveway and retaining walls... Google and Bunnings, here I come. A Re: New Build in Gisborne Vic 53Apr 11, 2014 2:16 pm Yep! It's not cheap!!! We are hopefully doing the driveway ourselves with the help of some of jes's grandparents friends. They are all retired but have worked in that field! So hoping to get a few things cheaper Re: New Build in Gisborne Vic 54May 09, 2014 8:59 am Its been a few weeks since i have posted. Our fire place is now installed and the spotting of the plaster work is going well. Also the cornice has arrived so I would say next week it will be in place as well. On track for handover as expected? Re: New Build in Gisborne Vic 56Jul 21, 2014 4:06 pm in cognito Hi - how is the build progressing? On track for handover as expected? Hi Cognito, Its been some time since I have been on here. We have made progress over the last few months. The house is being painted on the inside now. Outside will follow then all the electrics, plumbing, tiling etc. Hoping to be in by the end of August. Still lots to do. The plasterer told me that we has 1600 SqM of plaster in the house.. It took them a while to get that hung and spotted. Also, the floors need to be sanded and stained as well. It is coming along really well. Quality is 100% so can't complain. I will post some photos shortly. A Re: New Build in Gisborne Vic 57Aug 12, 2014 9:07 am We are about 4 to 5 weeks away from completion now. Tiling is currently being done, then plumbing, floor sanding and staining, carpets etc. Driveway will be finished in about 2 weeks so all coming together. Electrics are completed so we are on the home leg.
