Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 05, 2013 11:25 pm Just been through pre-start with Home Group WA. Had a lot of problems with their salesman communicating with their office. Took us months to get here, even now we did not get what we wanted unless the plans went back to engineering, even though the salesman said it wouldn't need to. Needless to say this salesman has left the company. Do not have a lot of confidence at this stage with what might happen next, but we're pressing on. This is our fourth build, so we know what to expect or thought we did. The reports throughout this forum seem to give HomeGroup a good wrap. I hope we get that experience from this point on. Would welcome any correspondence regarding Home Group. Thanks for reading. Re: Amberton - Home Group WA - Monte Carlo 2Sep 10, 2013 12:11 pm Hi Peter, Good work on picking the Monte Carlo. We are at bricking stage and should be done by today. Their paperwork is very slow but the construction has been smooth and timeline has been quick. We started the whole process in October/November 2012 and only at bricking now.(So yes its slow but quality is good). Goodluck with the rest of the build Home Group WA Monte Carlo Timeline on Page 1 Re: Amberton - Home Group WA - Monte Carlo 3Oct 13, 2013 9:20 pm We are also building the Monte Carlo with HGWA a bit further up marmion ave. Re: Amberton - Home Group WA - Monte Carlo 4Oct 16, 2013 7:02 pm Hi I am building with HGWA. How did everyone's prestart go? We picked out planA and planB for tiles as we don't know the cost. With the carpet we picked the ones in the HGWA range as we can change in the years to come. Hoping prestart will be before Xmas I would love to know how everyone's build is going Re: Amberton - Home Group WA - Monte Carlo 5Oct 17, 2013 10:05 am Hi 2, Prestart went smoothly and very quickly.. love that they provide lunch (the little things they do). We blew our budget at prestart which was devasting but what can you do. You get the pricing on the day which is good. We picked the builders range for carpet as we upgraded our carpet for our last house and it just wore away so the tougher carpet the better in our opinion. We waited for a very long time for prestart but i hear there paperwork stage is meant to be faster now. Im sure you will. The construction of the house goes pretty quickly which is exciting after waiting so long at paperwork. Goodluck with your build. They provide lunch, you just have to pick from a selection they send you.. At least the display room should be all finished by now.. it was partly finished when we went through and thankfully we werent part of the group who did prestart looking at everything on the floor Home Group WA Monte Carlo Timeline on Page 1 Re: Amberton - Home Group WA - Monte Carlo 8Oct 17, 2013 8:02 pm hi guys, for those who have have built and are building with home group wa. did you get flumed vents in the bathroom, ensuite and toilet and the rangehood to outside the house? And for does the flume from the rangehood go to outside the house? also i got drawings for the electrical drawing and they seem to put only one led downlight per room i thought they were meant to be several per room. seems to be insufficient lighting. Re: Amberton - Home Group WA - Monte Carlo 9Oct 18, 2013 2:00 pm Hi Henry, Depending on the watt of the downlight they recommended and size of room will the do multiple downlights.. i think thats just the standard way.. we only got flumed vents in the toilets and im actually not sure about the rangehood.. i would assume it goes outside the house and not the roof but no clue Home Group WA Monte Carlo Timeline on Page 1 Re: Amberton - Home Group WA - Monte Carlo 10Oct 23, 2013 7:55 am Hi peter How is the build going?
