Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Family home - Bedfordale 101Jul 27, 2014 5:38 am We have two big baths in the house and I have wondered what the point was. I have consoled myself with the idea that you spend twenty minutes a day in there and who cares anyway. My 5 year old likes a play with his toys in the bath and "the misses" and I like a Bath once in a blue moon to soak in the warmth. Could easily have deleted both I spose. Your home looks brilliant, We have an acre block on the other side of our town and wanted to build a "biggie" but didnt want to sell other property in a "firesale" to make the current project happen(ie couldnt afford to put a more substantial home on a bigger block)....................your plan indicates a very substantial home and its going to be amazing on that block with that outlook...............Congrats. Saving money on quality stuff done right firstime Our Build Thread https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=66810&p=1094349#p1094349 Re: Family home - Bedfordale 102Jul 27, 2014 11:21 am Thank you WV. Hopefully turn some soil beginning of 2015. Re: Family home - Bedfordale 103Jul 29, 2014 4:03 pm Well our water meter has disappeared. Rang water authority and they said they had taken it back as it was installed on the wrong block.
Will be interesting to see the next water rates/bill and if they continue to charge me "having the water on" Re: Family home - Bedfordale 105Aug 02, 2014 10:50 pm So found out it was the neighbours water meter. Good luck with the tenders, that is not so much fun, they all have different ideas and info to make comparison difficult to say the least. Provisional sums is the real hornets nest! Re: Family home - Bedfordale 108Sep 11, 2014 1:37 pm Thanks Bradster. This is the second lot of tenders, we chose from the first lot and narrowed it down to two builders and they now have to provide identical detail on specs. You are right the first lot of comparisons was a nightmare. (first lot was like comparing apples with chocolate) and such a massive price variance between high and low bidders. Re: Family home - Bedfordale 109Sep 11, 2014 5:49 pm That's going to be a great house, can't wait to see it built! Re: Family home - Bedfordale 112Sep 11, 2014 9:52 pm Can't wait to see it. It's going to be an amazing place, by the look of it. Re: Family home - Bedfordale 113Sep 20, 2014 11:52 pm Update: Latest design and update resent for tender to my 2 builders of choice. I have recieved back one quote and it is on the budget with all the specs we want. Only issue still remains the pool - really cant see it happening now. Awaiting quote from other builder then its decision time. Our current home goes on market 26 Sept. Re: Family home - Bedfordale 114Sep 21, 2014 12:34 am Your house is going to be amazing . All your rooms a huge . Next house partner won't to build out in the sticks on a huge property.byford is far enough for me lol . I just have to walk outside and I see a paddock to my left with a horse in it . But sadly that will probley go in the next 5 years . To make way for more houses . .Its a lot of work with a bigger block . But I guess the kids would love it .We are on a 930 block with approx 200sqm left at the back . We can't even maintain the weeds . Lol .good luck with your build Re: Family home - Bedfordale 115Sep 23, 2014 10:31 pm Made first garden bed today.
