Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Build with Webb & Brown-Neaves (WA) - moved in photos 181Aug 29, 2014 12:34 pm I also love your tables - dining, coffee, and nested sides. Especially the dining table, it's a beautiful wood. Re: Build with Webb & Brown-Neaves (WA) - moved in photos 182Aug 29, 2014 12:39 pm Thanks! Trixee: I love that dining table too - especially the legs (which you can't see very well in that photo). It was a wedding present from my parents and came from Table and Chair in Subiaco (although they didn't have it on display, so we just had to trust that it would look good, based on a photo on a website!). And HBTW: Our sofa from Bay Furniture is in our home theatre (photos to come soon). That one is from Natuzzi, where we also got the coffee table. Absolutely love how much natural light you have coming in. What a lovely view over your garden you will have. Especially love that stone detail on your kitchen island and beautiful wood bar stools. Re: Build with Webb & Brown-Neaves (WA) - moved in photos 186Sep 02, 2014 1:18 am I really feel like we're close to having the inside of this house finished now. We still have a few issues to sort out with the builder (minor plumbing and electrical things and that paint colour problem) plus some work on our skirtings and a couple of things to follow up with the cabinetry people. And we still need to organise all the books and papers that are currently piled up in the study. But the inside is now good enough that I feel happy to have people over. We're still waiting for the landscaping to be finished before we can have a housewarming party though.... Our minor bedrooms are mostly empty for now, but one is a guest room: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ This is our home theatre (Cameron's favourite room): Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Here's our room: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ And ensuite: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ And our WIR and my dressing table: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Built with WBN in WA Slab down 16 Aug 2013, Handover 16 April 2014, Moved in 2 June 2014 Our house build thread Re: Build with Webb & Brown-Neaves (WA) - moved in photos 187Sep 02, 2014 1:36 am That bath! Full bathroom tiling looks fab. I've taken tiles to two of our walls to the ceiling, and in the shower, but I left two side walls just painted. Wondering if I've made the wrong decision now.... It all looks great Miranda. http://www.housebythewater.wordpress.com From blank block to new home in Mandurah, Western Australia. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65564 Re: Build with Webb & Brown-Neaves (WA) - moved in photos 188Sep 02, 2014 8:49 am Looks incredible, the bath is gorgeous! We were a bit shocked at what the builder wants to charge for full height tiling, was yours hideously expensive or did you do it after handover? Re: Build with Webb & Brown-Neaves (WA) - moved in photos 189Sep 02, 2014 9:35 am Trixee you hear that a lot but the reason full height ceiling is expensive is because of the Sqm involved. Take our toilets say the floor is 2 x 1 m tiling cost 2m now add full size tiling to walls (assuming height 3m to keep maths simple) that's an extra 14sqm C & M ensuite is stunning and I love love love your dressing table - you guys must be so happy viewtopic.php?t=62083 Re: Build with Webb & Brown-Neaves (WA) - moved in photos 190Sep 02, 2014 9:35 am PS it goes without saying I love your bath - great minds think alike viewtopic.php?t=62083 Re: Build with Webb & Brown-Neaves (WA) - moved in photos 191Sep 02, 2014 10:07 am Still, ours came back at something like $300/sqm, seems excessive, just wondering if that's normal. Re: Build with Webb & Brown-Neaves (WA) - moved in photos 192Sep 02, 2014 10:31 am Wow trixee you've got to stop ordering diamond and platinum tiles :-$ The cost of laying 600x600 porcelain rectified tiles for us was approx. $65sqm and then add the tile cost on top that would take you to approx. $150 sqm (depending upon the cost of the tile) plus 20% builders margin would have you at about $165sqm so yes that seems really excessive Sorry about the hijack C & M Ps just saw your photos on my computer rather than my phone I love your dressing table even more viewtopic.php?t=62083 Re: Build with Webb & Brown-Neaves (WA) - moved in photos 193Sep 02, 2014 10:41 am I wish they were diamond and platinum! :0 Miranda, your bathroom tiles are however perfect, really suits the space Re: Build with Webb & Brown-Neaves (WA) - moved in photos 194Sep 02, 2014 10:52 am Unfortunately yes, Trixee, it was hideously expensive. We paid: - the extra cost of tiles above the allowance (for areas for which tiling was allowed) - the whole cost of tiles in areas not allowed for - labour - extra labour cost for the tiles being rectified - extra labour cost for the tiles being porcelain - extra labour cost for the tiles being larger than 300x300 - then add GST! That adds up pretty quickly. But it was important to Cameron and I'm now glad we did it. Luckily the tiler did a very good job. I wish we could have done it after handover, but I'm not sure whether that would work, since you need to fit the tiles around taps and shower screens etc. We thought about it but decided it was too hard. And AKB: you do have excellent taste in baths Built with WBN in WA Slab down 16 Aug 2013, Handover 16 April 2014, Moved in 2 June 2014 Our house build thread Re: Build with Webb & Brown-Neaves (WA) - moved in photos 195Sep 02, 2014 11:38 am Looks amazing! Thanks Hi Bubble Our walls are Dulux grey pebble - 50% strength in the main living area and front rooms and 25% in the minor bedrooms etc. The trims are Solver WA White (in theory, but they have gone extremely yellow where oil-based paint was used on the doors and door frames).
