Re: Build with Webb & Brown-Neaves (WA) - moved in photos 202Oct 22, 2014 10:55 am Hi Trixee We just ordered them online, from Australia though - Dunlin (I expect you know of them). It is annoying not to be able to see them in person first though. Yes it's hard to get a feel for shininess and other things online, was hoping I could see them somewhere first. Am leaning towards the nickel one, but I'm not sure how dark/light the metal would be. Re: Build with Webb & Brown-Neaves (WA) - moved in photos 204Oct 22, 2014 12:03 pm That's hard. I just searched Pinterest and Google for as many pictures of them as I could find. They still looked different from what I was expecting when they arrived though! You could perhaps try phoning Dunlin and having a chat about the issue? They might have some helpful advice. Re: Build with Webb & Brown-Neaves (WA) - maintenance 206Oct 28, 2014 11:54 am It has now been six months since our handover - time to start the six month maintenance. We have a 12 month maintenance period in our contract, but we were told to put in our list anyway. That suits us because we want to get things sorted sooner rather than later, especially since some of them are still outstanding since handover. I don't know how our list compares to others'. It includes a few outstanding electrical and plumbing issues, as well as guttering problems and several paint issues. Some of them are things that we hadn't realised at PCI had been done wrong, like our outside painting being done in Solver when we paid extra for Dulux (only realised when we found the leftover paint tins in our garage!) and the ceilings of our garage and alfresco being painted white instead of matching the rest of the outside paint colour. Also our laundry sink was put in the wrong way, so the tap is in the middle of the room rather than out of the way in the corner. A little thing, but it's annoying. It doesn't feel like it's been six months since handover, but I guess that's because it took a couple of months for us to move in (after painting, flooring etc) and then at least the first month or more didn't feel real because of all the tradies still coming and going. Then we started the landscaping, so I'm still looking forward to being able to enjoy the house without strangers around all the time. Maintenance isn't off to a good start: we took the morning off work for a 9am appointment yesterday and when we phoned because nobody was there by 9.20, we were told that it was actually a 9 - 11am window. So we waited. Then got a phone call just after 10am saying he could be there by 11.30. We couldn't wait that long so now we're waiting to re-schedule and then do it all again! And that's just the appointment to go through the list - then we'll need to do this waiting for tradies thing for everyone who needs to come back and fix things. Sigh... In better news, the landscaping that was stalled while we waited for planning approval to replace our fence has now re-started. Will post some pictures soon.
