Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 01, 2013 10:59 pm Hi all, Thank you for adding your helpful advice, and updates. I look forward to seeing your posts after your homes have being completed. We purchased out block of land on Tempe St. Today we received our first tender from Allworth homes today, and we are very unhappy with the result: 1. Site costs are quoted at 30k - apparently out land slopes at the back up to 900mm (we know if people who have built in Oran park with Wisdom Homes, and have a 2 m slope and their site costs are the same). 2. The fixed price we were quoted didn't include all that we had asked for (air conditioning, and specified door handles left off quote price) 3. If the builder does our driveway, that alone is 9k. 4. There is no display home to see the design or pictures of interior designs. 5. Builder doesn't seem interested in bargaining etc. Can anyone out there can tell me who they are building with and their estimated site costs etc? Any other advice or warnings? Re: Building at Bardia 2Sep 03, 2013 7:44 am Hi Hans2013, Go on to forum " building in Edmondson park". We are on lot1456 and building with allworth. We signed contacts on 26/8 and been dealing with them since April. Based on our experiences so far, I'll rate our builders very highly.their upgrades are reasonably priced and their scale of operations is very low key.god professionals throughout. Give you a feel of old times but good and honest. I understand your frustrations and we went through the same stage and most of the times, they arise out of lack of communication with builders. Send them mails, phone them, don't worry about doing it again and again if you need results. And if you can,try dealing with Peter at Oran Park. Don't wait till you get Re: Building at Bardia 3Sep 03, 2013 6:30 pm Hans2013 Hi all, Thank you for adding your helpful advice, and updates.
