I was going to use WA glasskote but ASOG had heaps more colour options and came in cheaper Re: Glass Splashback Prices Perth 3Sep 01, 2013 6:06 pm Thanks Leanne so far we only have a quote from glasskote and it scared us off so we are looking at trying to find a cheaper company. I got numerous quote and they are all within $200 of each other I'd say. I'm getting a metallic on clear glass Re: Glass Splashback Prices Perth 5Sep 01, 2013 7:17 pm I have had quotes from IKON Glass, WA GlassKote, Granart Glass & A Splash of Glass. All within $200-$250 of each other, but like Leanne we will most likely be going with ASOG due to the better range of colours. Quotes ranged from $1050-$1300, included approx 2.65m2 of glass, 2 powerpoint cutouts, measure & installation. The builder wanted to charge us over $2000!!! Yeah Our first plan was to put mirrored splashbacks up but after getting it priced up we decided that it just wasn't a financial option. So we went back to looking at tiled splashback but when I saw a burgundy splashback recently I fell in love with the idea but even this would end up $$$ Originally we had the whole kitchen priced up for mirror or glass splashbacks (without any joins) although I wasn't really sold on the idea of glass near the sink. $$$ Here's our current solution that we are going to get priced up. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Plan B Burgundy splashback only to the rear walls in the kitchen and scullery. All sidewalls and the wall above the sink to be tiled. Behind the glass range hood to be laminate same as the overhead cupboards Any thoughts??? Just get glass along back of kitchen & scullery. Either tile behind sink or see what extra is for glass (may not be much in that small space) You could always paint next to rangehood the same colour as the glass Re: Glass Splashback Prices Perth 9Sep 03, 2013 7:53 pm Why is everything so hard!!! We went and looked at the glass splashbacks at glasskote and splash of glass as recommended. SOG ended up being $50 sqm more but it has a nicer burgundy. We had it prices up and the price came in way better just doing the back wall ( and not doing behind the range hood) but....there's always a but...our rangehood is curved therefore if we cut the glass straight under the overhead cupboards and rangehood you would see two colours. So we would need to get the glass cut to the shape if the rangehood. Achievable but an additional cost and whatever goes behind the rangehood would also need to be cut. Mmmm then we emailed builder to see if the cabinetmaker could cut a piece of laminate to go behind the rangehood to match the overhead cupboards (which would need to be cut into the shape of the rangehood) big ask I know!!! but it can't be the thickness of the glass it needs to be a lot thicker and by the time we pay for the laminate additional cutting and the $300 variation any savings is out the window Design by Greater Concept - modified version Evolution Court Build by Premiere Homes My build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64854 Re: Glass Splashback Prices Perth 10Sep 03, 2013 7:56 pm Perhaps just try save for glass behind rangehood as seems its going to save the hassle as it wont need curves cut or anything like that Re: Glass Splashback Prices Perth 12Sep 03, 2013 8:43 pm Leanne looks like its going to be the easiest option if we want the glass splashback. I didn't even think about the curve until yesterday luckily the splashback guy pointed it out. Originally we were going to get a built in rangehood with overheads but it was quite a big saving to go the glass rangehood and when I saw (looks fantastic) I decided to save the $$$. Looks like we may need it. We will still save some money though as we are only going to do the back kitchen and scullery walls and originally we had mirror priced up which was $200 sqm more. This almost doubled our price and so we dropped back down to 600x600 rectified porcelain tiles (same as the main floor tile) If we can get away with glass on the back walls only and tiles on the returns and on the sink side it may just squeeze back in our budget. So opted for the nice looking curve too but didn't think about the costly splashback that would be needed If you still went with 600x600 tiles how would you have them laid as your splashback is 700 high? This is my next problem hahaha Re: Glass Splashback Prices Perth 15Sep 03, 2013 8:58 pm The is what we are hoping to achieve.....this colour scheme Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ But with the glass rangehood Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The colour samples photograph so different!!! This is my next problem hahaha Another think that put me off lol we would have to have a 10mm cut tile at the top. The tiler assured me that under the overhead and with small grout joints that you wouldn't really notice.. (Dont worry no-one else would notice but I would) Design by Greater Concept - modified version Evolution Court Build by Premiere Homes My build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64854 Re: Glass Splashback Prices Perth 19Sep 03, 2013 10:02 pm Design by Greater Concept - modified version Evolution Court Build by Premiere Homes My build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64854 Re: Glass Splashback Prices Perth 20Sep 03, 2013 10:49 pm So pretty!! I was thinking 300x600 glossy rectified tiles laid horizontally which can look like glass from what I have seen on here. Thought about a 100mm feature through the middle to solve the 700mm height but I think that would take away any possibility of it looking like glass!
