Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Coral homes or hilton homes Camden region 2Oct 14, 2013 8:19 pm Hi jgibley We are also looking at building with Coral Homes in Harrington Grove. We are awaiting our tender and too are looking at another builder. What home are you looking at building with Coral? I can sympathise with you in trying to make a choice. There are always the good and bad stories for each and every builder out there. Good luck with your decision! Re: Coral homes or hilton homes Camden region 4Oct 14, 2013 8:35 pm Yes we are in Magnolia release. Looking at building the Miami 40 with the inspirations package. The Marcoola is a great design as well, love that home theatre on the side of the house! Re: Coral homes or hilton homes Camden region 6Oct 15, 2013 9:10 pm Still waiting for the results of the soil test and the additional costs for the bushfire rating. I expect to have these when the tender comes in. Have you got any costs in your tender for these? I'm thinking that we will be a M class slab as the paperwork given to us from Harrington grove sales office confirms this. Hoping it comes back S though so no extra costs! I doubt it though. Re: Coral homes or hilton homes Camden region 7Oct 18, 2013 3:13 pm Hi there, My wifes Nan built with Hilton Homes about a year ago and didn't have any problems at all with them. They took about 16 weeks all up. My wife and I are also going to build with them early next year (as soon as our land registers at Spring Farm Riverside). So far we can't complain, they have been very easl to deal with and nothing is a problem. Cheers, Matt Re: Coral homes or hilton homes Camden region 8Mar 22, 2014 7:50 pm Hi, who did you end up choosing if you don't mind sharing? We are currently deciding between Coral with the inspiration package, Hilton or Better Built. We are also building in Harrington Grove in the 2nd Magnolia release! Our initial estimate looks good from Coral, did your tender end up the same as the estimate or did it go up? Amy Re: Coral homes or hilton homes Camden region 9Mar 22, 2014 10:30 pm Hi Amy, We have signed contracts and building with Coral in Harrington Grove, Magnolia. Are plans are currently waiting approval with the private certifier. There were a few things that came back at tender stage that were not in our initial estimate. These things were mainly in relation to the bushfire requirements and an upgrade to H class slab. I can say though that everything else we got Coral to provide an estimate for in relation to the house came in pretty much spot on. Re: Coral homes or hilton homes Camden region 10Mar 23, 2014 10:49 am Thanks for your reply! We got them to include an H class slab in our initial estimate (based on paperwork from Harrington Grove) so hopefully our tender will come back pretty spot on - it's good to hear from someone in this area with positive feedback. I have heard a few stories with the fixed price tender coming back much higher but these seem to be from other offices. Were the council fees they estimated accurate for you? We've had another local builder say that they don't think they've allowed enough (about $1000 short..) Thanks, Amy Re: Coral homes or hilton homes Camden region 11Mar 23, 2014 2:04 pm I was close to building with Coral. One thing I did notice when getting tenders from a few other builders was that Coral significantly underquoted on site costs. But they do have some nice homes and nice inclusions. Keen to hear from people in the area who have got KDRB done on whom they got the build from? Looking for recommendations. Thanks 0 21119 Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 14014 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 4365 |
