I was going to build in your suburb quite a few years ago. Look forward to following your build Re: SA - modified Greenock by Statesman at Elizabeth Park 23Sep 01, 2013 10:28 pm Thanks guys. I have very limited budget so I am trying to get the best result for me out of the standard range my builder is offering. It is fun actually I have had selected other bricks and roof tiles before but after I went to the display office and have seen the bricks in the wall and roof tiles at a bigger scale I have changed my mind and went with my second choice... It was the first time my husband had been to see bricks. He walked into one of the display centres and said, "that one". So we went with "that one" which hadn't been on the short list. Re: SA - modified Greenock by Statesman at Elizabeth Park 25Sep 03, 2013 10:50 am _lucinda, I am lucky I am the only one who is making decisions on the house so if something doesn't work I will be the only one to blame First house - Statesman Greenock (modified) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=66876 Second house - Fairmont Grand Design (modified) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=100789 Re: SA - modified Greenock by Statesman at Elizabeth Park 26Sep 06, 2013 1:33 pm I have got my final quote today. Included almost everything I could and even managed to get alfresco added. It came up just over a $1,000 short of the budget sum but now I am really anxious because the footing cost has not been calculated yet and if anything goes wrong with it then I have either to come up with he money, which would be very difficult, or start to take things off the price so I have crossed all my fingers and really hope that it will not go over the $20,000 which was put in the quote... I still have a few things to add at the selections and not much cash in my pocket... Sorry guys if I don't write in your threads, I am following everyone up but it is a bit busy at work at the moment with the month end and all... Good luck to everyone. Hope the footings don't go over. Re: SA - modified Greenock by Statesman at Elizabeth Park 28Jan 09, 2014 2:53 pm Hello everyone! I am back after so many months Now I have some progress on the house approval process. Footing came back on 20 December and it came back as just over $20K but the down side was that I needed around extra $6K for services connections as the distance went over the builders allowance. On the bright side my pre-approved amount was reviewed last week and was increased by $8.5K with will be very helpful with all this additional charges. Plans were submitted to the City of Playford Council on 19 December which came as a very nice Christmas and birthday present . My selections appointment is booked for 29 January and all the loan and grant document will be signed after the selections on the same day. We have also had a very cute addition to our family just before Christmas. Our Maine Coon kitten has arrived from Brisbane on 24 December Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ So things are looking nice and bright now First house - Statesman Greenock (modified) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=66876 Second house - Fairmont Grand Design (modified) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=100789 Re: SA - modified Greenock by Statesman at Elizabeth Park 29Jan 09, 2014 3:05 pm What a lovely kitten. Thanks Mclaren, it was a big surprise for me that they managed to submit the plan to the council on the last day of work before Christmas. I just wonder if we have some progress with the council by the time Statesman office opens on Monday. Looking forward to watching your build & seeing some pics (I want to use Harvest Gold bricks also ) PS very cute kitty!! Re: SA - modified Greenock by Statesman at Elizabeth Park 34Feb 21, 2014 11:53 am Hi guys! Finally good news. Loan has been formally approved and all the paperwork signed (valuation came back good). Land settlement will be later next week as all the paperwork almost ready. Council approval has been received today after about two weeks of nagging from myself and the builder (I don't know what had happened there but was not very good performance on the Council's side). So we have about another 10 days of engineering approval and final Council approval to be done and after that all good to go First house - Statesman Greenock (modified) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=66876 Second house - Fairmont Grand Design (modified) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=100789 Re: SA - modified Greenock by Statesman at Elizabeth Park 35Feb 28, 2014 12:24 pm Unfortunately, my bank asked for some extra document to verify my identity on Wednesday which I have sent to them the same evening. Nothing major but it delayed the land settlement which was meant to happen today. Anyway, bank should finish all the paperwork by next Tuesday and settlement will go ahead next day. All the approval from the engineers and council has been received and, if everything goes well, release to construction should be next Friday. I have posted a new thread about the time frame but will be happy if people post here as well. So what I need to be prepared for now, how long does it usually take for the slab to appear after the release? I am so looking forward for it to start In a meantime I decided to go ahead and purchased a new fridge and dishwasher which we started to use already as I can't stand the old ones any more... I was surprised in a good way as the fridge was about $3,500 when I looked at it few months ago and I have got it for $2,670 on the promotion for 2 years with no deposit, no interest and no repayments. It is LG door-in-door fridge GR-D257SL. The dishwasher is Bosch made in Germany SMU69U75AU built-in. After a week of using it I can't praise it enough, really good machine even though a tad bit expensive... Everything is OK with the paperwork and it was released to construction today. From now on I need to visit my block regularly as the builder will not notify when the slab is going to be put down or the frame go up. They will know post factum and will let me know but I what see it happening First house - Statesman Greenock (modified) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=66876 Second house - Fairmont Grand Design (modified) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=100789 Joe, it depends on your certifier but we are noticing the ones we deal with are really cracking down.
