Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 27, 2013 8:03 pm Hi all, We have recently built with Clarendon and would like To know if anyone has had issues after handover with: 1. Visible joints in ceilings. The plasterer came back and re-set the joints, but even after painting they are still visible. And 2. Boral roof tiles. All tiles have what Boral call "transportation" marks. It looks noticeable from the street and looks tacky. Boral insists there is nothing that can be done. I've noticed no other roofs look like mine. I've pursued out warranty officer numerous times and awaiting feedback Any one else with similar issues or can provide assistance? Thanks Re: New home issue/questions 2Aug 27, 2013 8:07 pm Both sound like they need fixing to me, but I'm no expert. Different absorbency of joint filler resulting in a slight shade difference in paint. 3. Sprayed paint means very little thickness of paint. 4. Shiny paint, best to specify 'flat' rather than say satin. Go and have a look at the ceiling of the builders display home as it could be said that is the standard. A couple of coats of roller applied paint may help. The Harder You Try - the Luckier You Get !
