I'm going to label the photos I post to Photobucket with the brick type so at least they come up on a Google image search. I'm not joking when I tell you that looking for images of these bricks on the net is pretty frustrating. We're really glad now we have gone with these bricks.............its all a matter of taste I expect. This week I went through hell trying to work out if our Garage door will be ok in Surf Mist. I managed to talk the Dear wife around and then decided it would look fine. The issue was the Cedar entrance doors contrasting against a white garage door. We considered going to a wood look garage door. After about 5 Hrs of deliberations and also telling Redink we wanted it changed.....................we changed our mind back. ...................argh. We just dont want to make any mistakes. we are also moving a downpipe on the left of the garage door around the corner so its nor visible on the FRT elevation. Redink have now told us every further variation will incur a $350 fee. Bit of brick envy there, will have to investigate them further as this type will look cracking on the redink home we're building. Will definitely be continuing to follow your build, and appreciate your honesty Re: Redink: Luxury: Northam WA 71Mar 07, 2014 10:29 pm oh and thanks for the heads up about the timber flooring..definitely will be giving those guys a call Re: Redink: Luxury: Northam WA 72Mar 07, 2014 10:44 pm Love the size of your house and your land Northam is so pretty and your bricks are really really lovely! Will definitely be continuing to follow your build, and appreciate your honesty Those Bricks are Boral Classique (Limestone) Redink refused to build in those bricks..................I had to threaten to pull the deal of the table to get them over the line. They are a brickies nightmare. The Brightside: Redink are building in these bricks...................The Downside: Its a hassle for them. Good luck with your negotiations guys. The Brickies got pretty upset because they also filled the cement mixer with bricks. Thats the way she goes Folks: Probably kids.............or maybe some Man-Child with a fairly high level of retardation. I hope this is an issolated incident. We spoke to the neighbors but you cant be there 24/7. Should there be a further incident I will be installing a surveillance camera next door. We take a pretty dim view of this. Hopefully it is an isolated incident. We forwarded our request on the bricks to our sales consultant last night, got a raised eyebrow. Essentially you've paved the way on it though, so they can't really say no to me lol. All is going well............very happy with the Brickies(Nice Fellas too) Bricks should be finished up within a couple of days...............there was a bent lintel delivered to site and its had to be replaced, delaying the back of the house. Next we have to wait for the guys doing the timber roof truses.........reading between the lines a couple of weeks. Personally I cant wait for the roof to go on.
