Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 422Apr 13, 2014 11:46 pm Bluestone would be back onto the other side of our street. If you look at the link I sent you the other day KJ, you'll see our staircase. We got that upgrade with the nicer balustrade. Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 423Apr 14, 2014 1:49 pm I walked around about 4.30pm on Saturday and any cars I saw I wondered if they contained forum people. I am disproportionately excited that there are tufts of grass growing on our land. At this rate, we won't have to buy turf! I wandered up Bluestone to Bradley and then down Binyang and only today realised that to see most peoples' blocks, I'd have to keep going up past Bradley. Ah well, next time! We apparently had 36 groups of people look at our apartment and have had a fair few offers, one of which we're very happy with. We're likely to accept that one but three more groups want to look at the apartment today so we'll see how that goes. It's funny because we're trying to be really careful not to mess the apartment, hence escaping to Glenmore Park over the weekend! Happy Monday everyone (especially to those who started the Easter break early). I brought easter eggs to work to see us through the week. Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 424Apr 15, 2014 12:32 am Our neighbours next door (on Darug) got yellow pegged today. Congrats to them. And the block across the road had their slab poured today. So two excited couples somewhere out there tonight. I wish them both well. Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 425Apr 15, 2014 11:57 am We've hit rock trying to do plumbing today. The site supervisor rang us and we went up to have a look. He also gave us an update. The frame was going to be delivered on Thurs but has pushed it back until after Easter as it would have just sat there anyhow. Then the frame starts a couple of days after that. Building the Villina Grande Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 426Apr 15, 2014 12:26 pm And better still... He thinks we will be in by Christmas!!!! Building the Villina Grande Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 427Apr 15, 2014 2:48 pm Oh no, that's not good. Is it going to be expensive?? I asked for a copy of our geotech report after you previously mentioned rock and it says ours is clear but hopefully we will have no issues when we start digging the pool. Fingers crossed you will be in for Christmas!! That will be fabulous!! Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 428Apr 15, 2014 6:26 pm Not too sure what the damage will be. I'm glad you don't have rock - that's great. Building the Villina Grande Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 429Apr 15, 2014 7:28 pm They were still working on your block at 5.30 this afternoon when I went past. Block next door has started. I am loving seeing all the progress. Our pool plans are now with the certifier so they should be finalised soon and our construction certificate was applied for today. Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 432Apr 15, 2014 8:03 pm Kjhosko Dream home, What's our SS like? Easy to deal with?? GV, how are you guys going? Council approval yet??? He seems very good. He rang us straight away and had taken photos to show us so we knew it was accurate. I think he will be a good communicator. Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 433Apr 15, 2014 8:06 pm Ps. Looking forward to watching your house progress too Kj. There is nothing sweeter than typing up that email passing the property over to the builder!!! They also started earlier than the 20 days with us, so hopefully that will happen for you!! GV Grande... Hoping you are out of Council too!!! Building the Villina Grande Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 434Apr 15, 2014 8:17 pm We had our colour appointment today... very happy with the results. It was much easier than we thought it would be. Should be out of council within the next few weeks so getting excited now. Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 435Apr 15, 2014 8:20 pm How long did it take you from peg out to move into construction? We still feel so close but so far. I'm still semi hopeful to be in by Christmas but it's slowly fading lol LSTR, we are going with Better Pools & Spas, they have been really good. We met with 5 pool companies and they were the most transparent and upfront. They were the only ones that mentioned we had to do a sewer peg out and knew the cost yet I mentioned to all of them one runs in the property behind us and was told it was fine though I knew we needed a peg out from my own research. We are going to save money by doing the glass fencing etc ourselves. I have found a few places online to source it from that are very reasonably priced. Now I just pray there is no rock once they start digging.... Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 436Apr 15, 2014 8:32 pm Hey Kj... From what I can tell from my posts and memory, it was about a month from peg out to slab (so maybe three weeks to actually start). A bit relies on you submitting your paperwork to M (proof of funds if you are part-paying, letter from bank to commence construction, letter authorising to take ownership of land and so forth). However, they had to start by the 9th April and we were slabbed on the 7th so they move a lot quicker in the construction stage. Your site supervisor takes over after you have a slab. It was much easier than we thought it would be. Should be out of council within the next few weeks so getting excited now. Congrats GoodLife! That's exciting news!!! I loved colour selection. I just hope it all comes together when it is finished. Hopefully Council will be uber quick for you. On another note, how do you all feel about the Badgery's Creek announcement? Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 438Apr 15, 2014 10:50 pm the rock around this estate is not solid just a few large rocks here & there that are easy dug out when the drainage is being done. I was told by the soil tester that I had rock but it was nothing. Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 439Apr 16, 2014 12:13 am Yay! We have progress. I'll work out how to put pics in one day, but I was so excited to get a message today saying we'd started (thanks dreamhome!)! I was going to go up early in the morning to see if they'd started as they told me the other day the work order was in place, but I stayed in bed playing candy crush... Love holidays! Goodlife, so exciting to pick your colours! Did you do tiles at the same time? We haven't done that yet, they like to wait till the slab has been laid so they don't run out of stock. I'd hate to have to change at the last minute. Hope everything goes through council quickly for you. Would be awesome if we were all in before Christmas. The end of our contract is the week after my birthday - would love to be in there in time for my birthday. I want the first birthday party in the new house... kj, hopefully our geotech report will be the same since we are neighbours. I hope so, but it's good to know, Rosewood, that it's large rocks, not some big solid slabs! Badgery's Creek decision has annoyed me a little, but my husband seems to think that it will be like the planes we had where we grew up - which wasn't too bad. Will be nice having an international airport so close. KJ, we had our pegs around 24 March and our slab should have been completed on the 11th, so that's 3 weeks. We might also need your glass fence source. Anything to save money! Hope everyone has something nice planned for easter. We are going to go sit up on the block one day just to hang out. Might be time for that BBQ! Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 440Apr 16, 2014 6:42 pm dream_home93 Congrats GoodLife! That's exciting news!!! I loved colour selection. I don't mind the airport announcment. It should bring plenty of jobs and better roads to the area. Plus it will make flying much more convenient. AiryFairy Goodlife, so exciting to pick your colours! Yes we did tiles as well... that's what took up most of the time. We ended up getting the big bertha 600mm floor tiles. I would have been happy with 500mm but the GF loved the 600mm too much. Wish you all the best. Once you signed the contract, they will find millions excuses to charge you.
