Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 483Apr 26, 2014 10:03 am Hi AiryFairy, We surprised our girls yesterday. We did the pass the parcel wrap and the girls had to put a secret message together that told them we were taking them on a mystery tour. We blindfolded them until we got to the block, stood them in a row at the front of the block and then they could take there blindfolds off ---- their reactions were priceless. They picked their rooms yesterday and we will take them to the pouring of the slab in about a weeks time. Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 484Apr 26, 2014 10:24 am Airyfairy. Hope all goes well for you next week. Very exciting for you. I think that building seems to go slow through admin stage then suddenly bang they are off like their racing and you have a slab and a frame. My hubby is looking forward to the brick stage. I am just happy to see movement at any stage. Joejulesx. What a great way to surprise your children. I am glad they have reacted as you thought. You did well to keep the secret for so long. Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 485Apr 26, 2014 1:16 pm JoeJules, that would have been fantastic! I can't believe you were able to keep a secret for so long about building! Sunrise, I don't blame you one bit - it must have been exciting. Hopefully both of our frames are finished in the coming week (I was going to say and bricks arrive but probably wishful thinking). Airy... It's all happening for you!!! *happy dance for you* GoodLife, where are you up to? Also Kjhosko, are you in your 20 day countdown now? GVGrande, hoping you are out of Council and into the final steps of pre-construction. So many houses are starting. Hopefully our new neighbours will find their way to the forum and FB page. Building the Villina Grande Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 486Apr 26, 2014 5:42 pm dream_home93 GoodLife, where are you up to We've done all our selections and our plans were approved by council. Right now we're just waiting on Roselea to come back with the finalised contract (with the added selections from our colour appointment). Then we will finalise everything with the bank... then it will be go time with construction. Lstr123 Hi Goodlife - not 3108 but were 3109! Or plans lot 423- any of our neighbours on here? Hi Lstr123.. We are in Binyang backing onto 3108.. so we will be your diagonal rear neighbours lol. So far we know our across-the-road neighbour who is on here but still havent met next door... whose house is it brick stage right now. I saw the owners of 3108 looking at their slab last weekend but I was in a hurry and couldn't stop the car the say hi. Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 487Apr 26, 2014 8:05 pm Hi everyone, really exciting seeing so much activity going on in our area. Congrats to everyone with slabs or frames. We are a bit frustrated at the moment we are all approved by council close to 3weeks now but they were waiting for our builder to pay some fee and our builder knew nothing about it, so great both just sitting there waiting for each other! So lucky we chased things up so let's cross fingers it's all sorted by next week. Couldn't just be smooth could it, it's all good we're in no rush I love paying rent, lol. Never seem to see people at their blocks when we are there, if anyone sees a lady and walking a little black and white fox terrier feel free to say hi love to get know people in real life. Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 489Apr 26, 2014 8:34 pm Hi Sunrise1, I have seen your one streaming along exciting! Ill look out for your too. I slowly work out who's house is who's. Funny how my husband and I go for walks and I point out the homes of who's building what by their forum names, he prob thinks I'm going mad, lol. Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 490Apr 27, 2014 8:39 pm GV Grande, I'm the same LOL. At least we've met our next door neighbours. (Lovely people ) and I have met the wonderful dreamhome. There's never anyone up at the block when we are looking though. I hope everyone gets their stuff together for you and you can start in 20 days! Joejules, that's really exciting hearing about their reactions So glad it was as you hoped. Sunrise, I hope things go well too. We've just realised that I have no idea where all the sewer pipes are going, so I am really worried about getting the pool dug up later now. I'll put an urgent call in to the builders and the pool company first thing in the morning and hope they all know what everyone is doing. I am sure I have passed on details before, but I don't want the house to be done, then realise there is nowhere to put the pool. KJ I think you'll be the next to start. I'm sure you'll arrive to see a nice level block soon. Hope everything is settled soon for you soon Goodlife. Your neighbours are powering ahead! Back to work for me tomorrow. Looking forward to lunch. Boss always puts on a good spread. He feeds us with lots of chips and lollies. I should be cranky, but the sugar high keeps me smiling. Hmmm. I think I talk too much. lol. Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 491Apr 27, 2014 9:00 pm Jules - thats an awesome suprise for the girls! funny how the kids always get excited about being able to choose bedrooms. Grande - lucky you did follow up! i think thats the key, if i hadn't heard anything for a few days i was on the phone or email wanting to knwo why. and tehre were some instanes where my phone call actually prompted them to move along. for me its SETTLEMENT EVE! 7:45am meet our SS. Ive already seen 2 things that we didn't pick up just from walking around the outside more and taking more in. so 2 things on maintenance list already! just paint issues, nothing major. Will do walk through with SS and ensure everything from PCI is fixed. Then we have to drive to norwest 10:30am and hand over final bank cheque and we get the keys! What a year this has been. We started looking at established in GP March last year, Mother days last year we saw a display home in jordan Springs and thats when Hubby saw the H&L package in Glenmore Ridge. 22nd May we had paid our deposit. Land was already registered so no wait there. And here we are 28th April and its all done! To say this past year was stressful is an understatement. But now its done and i reflect i have loved it. the building experience is awesome, the admin sucked because i din't know what to expect. If i did it again (and i would) i think i would feel more in control as i know what to expect. Eden Brae Drysdale 27 | The Blog Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 492Apr 27, 2014 9:28 pm Welcome Yogi! We too are selling (apartment, not house) and cooling off has just finished. Still waiting to finalise settlement date. Hope yours all goes smoothly! We have sent plans back to the builder to make some modifications and I keep picking up on more things (inconsistencies in their plans, primarily) but I really want to see a tender before we finalise any plans so I might wait a little to fix those things. Renski, settlement soon! It must be a relief to be pretty much done! Goodlife, Airy Fairy, Dreamhome + Sunrise, congrats on your: Council, piering, slab + frames, respectively. I hope there is much excitement for all of you. Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 494Apr 28, 2014 6:24 pm Hi everyone, Was up checking everything out over the weekend. It's fantastic seeing so much action going on. No movement in our block since peg out but then we didn't help the cause either considering the week before Easter we decided to change the stairs. I got everything signed and back to them with I minutes of it being emailed but it did hold things up for a bit. Well worth it though - very very happy with the decision. Hoping we move out of pre-construction this week. I would really like to see a slab by the end of May Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 495Apr 29, 2014 9:37 am Just got told that it's going to take another 3 weeks to get out of pre-construction. Then our 20 days will start. Not happy at all. At this rate we won't be in till March next year and that's assuming no rainy days etc Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 496Apr 29, 2014 11:25 am Kjhosko - sorry to hear about that! The progress once everything starts is just incredible, you're truly in the lowest most frustrating stage - it will only get better We had our frame go up last week and frame for the roof yesterday. Amazing to see our home come together, our builder didn't have a display home so it's great to see life size! Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 497Apr 29, 2014 3:59 pm Not good KJ! Do you think that's because of your changes to the stairs or have they just got alot of backlog? Our approvals have finally gone through so we should start moving forward in the next few days I hope! So much for being in by Xmas! MH have been good with communicating and trying to get us moving. Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 498Apr 29, 2014 5:31 pm I think there is a backlog or something with the draftsmen drawing the construction plans - apparently it will take a fortnight. They have been really good thus far and I can accept that there were some delays due to changes but they were finalised very quickly and paperwork was signed and emailed back within minutes. I was really not expecting another 3 weeks considering we were pegged out over 3 weeks ago. Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 499Apr 29, 2014 5:45 pm Far out KJ so frustrating! Be lucky to skim in for a June start at this rate! Been that long now since our colour selections that I'm now second guessing a lot of our decisions. Too much time to think. Re: Anyone building in Mulgoa Rise? 500Apr 29, 2014 5:53 pm Oh KJ that sucks Surely the slab will be the same either way. They could at least start with levelling etc Least it would be something. When they made a mistake with ours, they just had it redrawn. Maybe I should get a copy to confirm it has been done! Wish you all the best. Once you signed the contract, they will find millions excuses to charge you.
