I tried not to think about it too much as the rain pelted down and down there's not much you can do about it really. So far, it doesn't look too bad, but will clearly need a bit of sanding back at the edges. Some parts of the floor had pools of water sitting on them for a week (guess the floor is level, at least!!), and look OK, except where something heavy has been dropped and punched a hole through (my money is on the scaffolding...) I guess God didn't use subbies... Re: rain and floors 6May 12, 2008 2:45 pm we got very bad floor lipping problem due to floor board exposed in rains during the long 6 weeks brick work period. our builder did floor sanding twice (extra one because we complaints) but still can't get it to a very level condition and this impacts our timber flooring work. Our timber floor guy tried to help but there's a limit on how much you can cut off from the floor board joining area. Now after all timber floor work finished, in a few area we can still feel the timber floor not level...
I guess unless your builder do the roof before the brick work, you can't avoid the problem of exposing your 1st floor floor boards in rain. May be you can request to have it temporarily covered by some plastic stuffs??
