It will be worth it when it is done Re: Switch Homes - SOR WA - "The Banskia" - colours added 22Sep 11, 2013 3:39 pm It is raining pretty hard today so no chance of concrete for a while. I wonder if my terazzo guys is getting annoyed yet LOL Re: Switch Homes - SOR WA - "The Banskia" - colours added 23Sep 11, 2013 5:19 pm Great selections kittyranch. Hopefully the weatherman is wrong about the rain yet to come and that slab gets poured, must be annoying waiting for the first piece of the house to start Redink Homes in Banksia Grove Handover 13/02/14 https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65768&p=1068366#p1068366 Re: Switch Homes - SOR WA - "The Banskia" - colours added 24Sep 13, 2013 3:28 pm We wanted it all done by my 40th birthday next year so we could have a big party at the new house. No chance now unless it gets all done in six months and they said nine from slab. There wont be any time to get the lighting in or any landscaping now. Doh! Re: Switch Homes - SOR WA - "The Banskia" - colours added 25Sep 22, 2013 12:02 pm Sigh..... still more rain. Re: Switch Homes - SOR WA - "The Banskia" - colours added 26Sep 22, 2013 12:11 pm Lovely floorplan and selections. Look forward to seeing it all come together. Hope rain buggers off soon, im over it and want spring weather. Its been so wet this winter Re: Switch Homes - SOR WA - "The Banskia" - colours added 27Sep 26, 2013 5:42 pm Still no concrete and it is going to be such pretty concrete. I am praying for sunshine. Re: Switch Homes - SOR WA - "The Banskia" - colours added 28Sep 26, 2013 6:15 pm So maybe time to talk lights? We have bought a set of lights from Beacon called Venezia. There is a twelve light pendant for the main bedroom. A smaller one for the guest room, single pendants across the kitchen and a square one in the dining room. We got them on special from Beacon plus we got an extra pendant and two extra glass "blobs" in case of breakages later on down the track. What we dont have is wall lights for the bathrooms and powder rooms. The ones in the display are pricey. We have found them but it will be a couple of grand to get them. They are small simple lights so it seems a bit steep. The one over the bath wont be happening as that is illegal (lighting and water = zappy) but apparently it is allowed in a display as no one uses the bath. I think stuff like that gets take out at sale????? The link to a better pic is http://www.switchhomes.com.au/display-h ... di/gallery and click on the bathroom images. Re: Switch Homes - SOR WA - "The Banskia" - lighting help pl 31Sep 26, 2013 6:26 pm HI Kittyranch, Re Bath over light It has to be either higher than 2400cm above the floor over the bath or 600mm to the side of the bath. At least that's what I was told yesterday when enquiring about lights over baths. Cheers <!-- l --><a class="postlink-local" href="https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=62083">viewtopic.php?t=62083</a><!-- l --> Re: Switch Homes - SOR WA - "The Banskia" - lighting help pl 32Sep 26, 2013 6:29 pm kittyranch The one over the bath wont be happening as that is illegal (lighting and water = zappy) but apparently it is allowed in a display as no one uses the bath. I think stuff like that gets take out at sale?????. Why on earth would you put something in a display that is illegal to replicate?? Builders do bizarre things at times. Everything is looking really good kittyranch. I'm really keen to see what your strip lights end up looking like. I would never have thought of that! Re: Switch Homes - SOR WA - "The Banskia" - lighting help pl 33Oct 05, 2013 5:15 am hope it goes well for you. my experience of them was dreadful, worst 2 years of my life. now i'm stuck with a rubbish house that i couldn't even sell , it's that bad. so maybe you'll be ok i really told them some home truths, and they made changes, but be careful. Re: Switch Homes - SOR WA - "The Banskia" - lighting help pl 34Oct 07, 2013 11:15 am We have our slab!!!! Re: Switch Homes - SOR WA - "The Banskia" - Yay!!! Slabbed! 36Oct 07, 2013 1:30 pm Here it is in all it's glory Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We got an icecream container filled with the mix ready to take to our polisher as a sample. Slight issue with the septic piping being in our bedroom not the ensuite but they were able to cap it and move it as it would have ruined our bedroom floor if it was patched later. It was a bit full on with lots of guys working on it and being super careful which was awesome. The concrete supervisor has a polished aggregate mix at home and he totally understood how much extra it cost us and how careful you have to be with it. We met our new site supervisor and his boss on site and got to go through a few things that we are doing ie tanks, septics etc. And they called our terazzo guy while we were they to make sure they got the finish just the way he wanted which was reassuring. It will get coated with curing stuff now and then he will be coming to do the first cut before things get going. So far so good!! Re: Switch Homes - SOR WA - "The Banskia" - Yay!!! Slabbed! 37Oct 07, 2013 1:36 pm duvalldreamer it has not been smooth sailing but we have found as long as we put in the effort to check, recheck and explain and explain again we have had everything that was an issue resolved. We have had to wait on things but we are pretty confidant we are going to get a nice home. Time will tell but so far so good. It helps that we are building almost the display home so we always have that as a point of reference and we don't have much that we don't know already what it will look like. Fingers crossed! I look forward to following along with your build My Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=62841 Re: Switch Homes - SOR WA - "The Banskia" - Yay!!! Slabbed! 39Oct 07, 2013 7:18 pm Oh and when we met the supervisors supervisor today and said we were building the display as displayed he said he needed to tell us a few things. One was about the light over the bath. We said we knew about it and he seemed happy as it seemed like it had been contentious before. The other issue was the colour of the ceiling if you added an alfresco as it looked too dark but we didn't add one so we are all good. Re: Switch Homes - SOR WA - "The Banskia" - Yay!!!
