Re: Dale Alcock Build in Kensington - Bifolds 163Feb 04, 2015 8:51 am Drove past last night and they'd delivered the bifolds! I can't wait to see what they look like installed. They'll probably have to lift them over the neighbour's fence as there's no other rear access besides the back of the garage and they won't fit through there. Re: Dale Alcock Build in Kensington - Bifolds 165Feb 06, 2015 8:53 am The bifolds went in yesterday. We were both slightly underwhelmed...But I'm sure they'll look great when the glass goes in which is due next week. I think they look smaller than expected because the frame is so thick. There's a noticeable difference in the frame color to the section that will hold the louvres...I can probably live with it but the other half is struggling Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ My New Home Build with Dale Alcock - https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=66662 Landscape Design Thread - https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=71784 Re: Dale Alcock Build in Kensington - Bifolds 166Feb 06, 2015 9:04 am They look amazing to me!! The glass has gone in and they look great from both the inside and out. I'm so glad, because we deliberated on the configuration for a long time and ended up upgrading from a sliding door where the second set has gone...I think it looks great. A lot of progress this week...internal timber/glass doors went in and the stone in the kitchen went on. We had our tiler meeting...we chose alibaster instead of white for the wall tiles. We deliberated over that for ages too...I think white would have looked better...oh well. Bifolds looking from the back of the yard Hallway doors Doors to sewing and hallway. We got frosted glass to hide the mess. Theatre doors...so impractical to have glass in a theatre but they look nice Stone benchtop on island - bad piccy as it was taken through the door Vanity in the powder room My New Home Build with Dale Alcock - https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=66662 Landscape Design Thread - https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=71784 Re: Dale Alcock Build in Kensington - Bifolds 172Feb 13, 2015 12:23 am They look fabulous! What sort of frosting did you specify for your internal glass doors? We had to choose ours and was a bit underwhelmed by the options. Or is frosted glass different to obscured glass? Re: Dale Alcock Build in Kensington - Bifolds 173Feb 13, 2015 4:48 pm Wow at the bifold door configuration especially the louvre windows at the side! Nice. I can't believe we're actually going to be in this house soon. PCI is 2nd April & key handover 17th April....seems so soon. Aaaahh, there's so many things I should have organised by now (electrician, landscaping, carpet, wardrobes, paving, etc. etc. etc.)! But really happy we'll be in the house soon (and even happier to be out of the tiny, dingy, dark rental)! Re: Dale Alcock Build in Kensington - texture coat mistake 180Feb 19, 2015 6:57 pm Sounds like the bifolds are a winner. Thanks everyone. We were at the house the other day (actually we're there every day) and discovered that they've used the wrong color texture coat for half of the front facade. They said they will fix this. ...I suspect they'll paint over it. Are there any potential problems with painting over texture coat. .. I'm assuming there may be more maintenance on the painted section? Or if they do apply another texture coat. .. Any problems with that approach?
