We are putting the same colours through both bathrooms and the powder room/toilet and the laundry/ WIP will be the same as the kitchen, Im hoping it all comes together. http://i1284.photobucket.com/albums/a565/speedwaychick68/7c56a664557372e28d49c380e9fd4dae_zpsa10c6e3c.jpg Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=66620 Re: Build a new house in Serpentine with Gemmill-Colour Meet 44May 02, 2014 7:31 pm Thanks AKB!!! We had our pre start on Tuesday, we are feeling really good about everything at the moment... bit of a catch up for you guys...we were having issues with communication between the sales rep/Gemmill and ourselves so much so that we are around three months behind in our admin stage and should have been building by now. But to Gemmill's credit they have restored our faith in the build and we are looking forward to the construction stage. They even fast tracked us to speed up through the admin process and get back on track! Upgrades added to the PPA with the sales rep: 1200 door and double rebated frame added instead of 820 and sidelight 820 Dowell door and awning window added to laundry instead of slider bench top and inset ceramic trough instead of standard metal unit 3 stacker sliding door instead of standard slider 31 course to family, kitchen, dining, alfresco and garage bath added to en suite extra bench added to kitchen A few up grades added at Pre-start: 180 degree hinges added to theatre doors so they can open and sit against the wall theatre door to match the front doors profile en suite shower made bigger mixer tap added for shower Nib wall for the main bathroom shower mixer tap added for shower Tap for behind the fridge We added 800mm and 750mm drawers to either side of the oven Subway tiles (bevelled) up to the overhead cab height Upgraded the fly screens to midge mesh Added an extra sink to ensuite Upgraded the gas storage hw system to instant gas Added three phase power to the house Upgraded the electrical box to a lockable one and located it at the boundary fence Deleted the paving to front entry and alfresco and changed to grano (so we can add decking in later) We also double checked the staker doors to the alfresco come with fly screens (they do) I also got in writing that the portable toilet stays on site till the end of construction, because the ATU (septics) need to be signed off by the shire (at a cost of $1500.00) If the trades use the house toilets we will have to pay again for the sign off, not happening on my watch! (we'll see how I go with that one!) Also added in a pantry in the WIP to accommodate the "tandem pull out pantry" from Hafele. And the corner cabinet in the kitchen will accommodate the "magic corner" from Hafele. So now we are waiting for the bank to provide unconditional finance, they forgot to include a quote so we are waiting for it to come back again :/ Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=66620 Re: Build a new house in Serpentine with Gemmill-Colour Meet 45May 02, 2014 7:37 pm Hafele pull out pantry the tandem has another mirrored on the other side Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=66620 Re: Build a new house in Serpentine with Gemmill-Colour Meet 46May 02, 2014 7:39 pm Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=66620 Re: Build a new house in Serpentine with Gemmill-Colour Meet 47May 02, 2014 8:04 pm Have to love that Hafele stuff .......I could spend a fortune there alone <!-- l --><a class="postlink-local" href="https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=62083">viewtopic.php?t=62083</a><!-- l --> Re: Build a new house in Serpentine with Gemmill-Colour Meet 48May 02, 2014 10:08 pm Looks awesome! And he'll roll his eyes and say " I know" . My friend plays the game better she responds with " oh my god really? That's soo exciting!" I work at Masters and we have access to the Hafele products so I get to play with the accessories all the time, they are so cool! I see a visit to masters in my future Re: Build a new house in Serpentine with Gemmill-Contracts!! 51May 03, 2014 4:29 pm Speedwaychick68 We went for our colour meeting yesterday, I think I was slightly freaking out! We have modelled the house colours on The Prevelly from Gemmill so that part wasn't too bad. These are the colours we have chosen Woodland Grey for the roof and Garage door. Sandford bricks bricks and White duck for the render, render is only on the middle section of the master bedroom (see avatar pic) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Hi Speedwaychick68, Just wondering if you could please post a photo of your external colours when they are done? My husband and I are having the Woodland Grey roof and are also considering white duck for the render. Any assistance is appreciated. Thanks. We are still looking at the different builders and trying to find one that will give us the best value for our money. A very complicated task indeed ! Re: Build a new house in Serpentine with Gemmill-Colour Meet 54May 04, 2014 1:28 am Hi CPross
can do I'm looking forward to see what it looks like too, we modelled the out side render and roof colours on the Gemmill display 'The Prevally' The white duck is actually white duck half which is exactly what they used on the display. if you go to the website look up that display and look through the photos ... Just Devine! The woodland grey comes out a bit blue in the photos but we checked and re checked it's def woodland grey. I had my heart set on white window frames but we also wanted a dark coloured roof, it really works well in the Prevally display Re: Build a new house in Serpentine with Gemmill-Colour Meet 55May 04, 2014 1:29 am Hi JC
Yes I am at the Baldivis one (the best one too) I saw the post on your thread a while ago about the blinds had a little giggle to myself I love that people love Masters it's sad I know! I'll get our carpet and vinyl planks done through work, and I'll probably upgrade the shower heads at some stage too. Dangerous store to work in as you can tell! Re: Build a new house in Serpentine with Gemmill-Colour Meet 56May 04, 2014 1:49 am Hi Sandray Aka neighbour!! The builders generally say 6 months for admin then 6 months to build. Gemmill say on average 24 weeks build depends on weather and tradies available. Bit of advice ...research who offers the best inclusions not necessarily the best plan, any builder can build any plan ( despite what they tell you they just alter one of their own plans to suit) We picked Gemmill because of their inclusions such as Dowell windows and doors, ceramic sinks ( most do this now anyway) mitred tiling (small thing but for me important) and their build quality. A friend built through 'good life' and they are from a construction back ground and raved about the whole process start to finish. From what I read on here and other review sites it doesn't matter who you go through you will have some sort of issue along the line, it is a very emotional and stressful process, be prepared! Do your research and any discussions you have with anyone from the builder or shire etc get them to put it in writing (email) it saved us a few times already. There is NO perfect builder as there is no perfect build. Also like I have read on the forum before sometimes it will be a case of you having to prompt for communication but sometimes it must be done for your own sanity! Right now with Gemmill's time frame we will be looking at Dec finish but we are expecting Jan - Feb so as not to be disappointed. If it ends being earlier wonderful bonus! Keep in touch? Or create a thread so I can watch your build too Re: Build a new house in Serpentine with Gemmill-Colour Meet 57May 04, 2014 11:14 am Quote: Speedwaychick68 wrote: We went for our colour meeting yesterday, I think I was slightly freaking out! Were actually on our way there now to pay some off the blinds hehe. Is your friend who built through Goodlife on the forum? We built worth 'goodlife' but we have a gemmil construction sign and everything is branded gemmil so it's seems like a only a small technicality during sign up Our home building & decorating blog - http://www.rocknsoul.com.au/blog Re: Build a new house in Serpentine with Gemmill-Prestart Do 60May 04, 2014 1:52 pm No not on the forum but she was my go to guru with adding things in and prices of things, she is a serious renevator too and built an investment property got keys in Jan very happy with the build compared to one she had built two or three years earlier with another builder. I think that your right, there is no difference maybe just the sign :p Thanks for your reply. I will just wait and see I guess.
