I am building with Gemmill in Oakford, just down the road. I have been following your thread too. whats the progress on your build? did things get better? Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=66620 Re: Building a new house in Serpentine with Gemmill 25Jan 10, 2014 9:11 am Yes in a sense Speedwaychick68, we were slabbed in November. Brickwork started in December. The other day he ran out of yellow sand despite calling site supervisor two days before to tell him he was low so he had to stop work. I chased this up with CLO and she gave me a bit of attitude. It is just little things but maybe because I am watching this build so closely and have built before I know what should be going on. Our is Lot 56 Lefroy Street, we are currently trying to find a design that would suit our needs. We have looked at Gemill as well as Dale Alcock, at this stage we are still looking. Can's wait to get started. Re: Building a new house in Serpentine with Gemmill 27Feb 28, 2014 7:07 pm Hi Sandray! yep we are neighbours! We are on Tranby not directly across the road but to the right. We have been looking at this Gemmill plan since may last year :/ They have been a bit slow getting us our contracts but hopefully any day now we should have something to sign Cant wait to follow your build too we have been through a couple of issues so far (septic placements and applying to cut down trees at the moment) I so cant wait to get started and to get out there Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=66620 Re: Building a new house in Serpentine with Gemmill 28Mar 21, 2014 6:20 pm Just saw you guys are building with Gemmill - just have to say that have loved our Gemmill build so far. The quality of the trades, and the speed that everything has happened has been amazing Our home building & decorating blog - http://www.rocknsoul.com.au/blog Re: Building a new house in Serpentine with Gemmill 29Mar 22, 2014 12:04 pm Hi jcbissor! A friend of mine built with good life gemmills sister company, and highly recommended them. For the build quality etc. We have had a battle trying to get some contracts out of them, our titles were issued in November (septic placement issues mostly) apparently our contracts are due next week so we shall see what happens. I just want the build to start!! Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=66620 Re: Building a new house in Serpentine with Gemmill 30Mar 22, 2014 12:28 pm Yeah we signed up with good life, and then that's where our dealings with 'goodlife' ended and everything has been gemmill since, even our construction sign lol. Hopefully contracts will happen soon! We changed so many things so many times we signed up in April and didn't get contracts till October, but I thought that was pretty normal since we pretty much redesigned the whole house haha. Hopefully we cant put the last few months behind us (it was a long drawn out process) and have a fantastic quick build! http://i1284.photobucket.com/albums/a565/speedwaychick68/b029f1e261f7573980f26d09cd726570_zps2061463e.jpg Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=66620 Re: Building a new house in Serpentine with Gemmill 34Mar 25, 2014 6:35 pm Haha I look back at my stupid questions and early posts now like wow, we have learnt so much hehe. _________________ Our build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64914 Ha lol I know what you mean I know a lot more than I did before, and we haven't even started building yet! We even took over the installation of the septics that we need, 6months ago we didn't have the confidence to do it. You learn a lot when you don't have any choice and you invest so much emotion into it. You'll have to share who did yours so we can compare. There's a list on my thread of all of our upgrades and prices of these with Gemmil if this helps Our home building & decorating blog - http://www.rocknsoul.com.au/blog Re: Build a new house in Serpentine with Gemmill-Contracts!! 40Apr 16, 2014 8:07 pm We went for our colour meeting yesterday, I think I was slightly freaking out! We have modelled the house colours on The Prevelly from Gemmill so that part wasn't too bad. These are the colours we have chosen Woodland Grey for the roof and Garage door. Sandford bricks bricks and White duck for the render, render is only on the middle section of the master bedroom (see avatar pic) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=66620 Thanks for your reply.
