Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 13, 2013 2:42 pm Hi All. So I have decided after much stalking and random threads of questions to start my own homebuilding thread. We have our pre-approval and our potential dream block chosen (it gets released on Monday so I am waiting with my finger hovering over speed-dial) In the meantime, we are trying to choose a homebuilder and after some great advice on here, have narrowed it down to 2 or 3. I like Blueprint so far, as the guy we have been dealing with is great, and its actually their plan I am most in love with. Just wondering if anyone building with blueprint can make themselved known so I can subscribe to your threads and get advice (or similiarly, be put off by horror stories...)! Laurax Re: Anyone building with Blueprint? 2Aug 13, 2013 5:43 pm Which home did you like? We liked some of the Blueprint homes and our daughter kept telling us they were bigger (the advertisements on tv told her so), we also liked some of the Gemmil Homes but settled for a Dale Alcock hybrid Re: Anyone building with Blueprint? 3Aug 13, 2013 6:02 pm Hey Redstorm, I am in love with the Altona, for various reasons, it fits what we need perfectly. The kitchen in the display home is what actually attracted us (its perfect) but the sales man was nice and honest and said, it pretty much costs 25k for the kitchen as it is! We are also considering DA & Gemmill, funnily enough! We are going to try our best to cost up each one based on everything we want and see who comes out on top/can do the best deals for us. One thing I found odd about blueprint is the guy kept telling us things like; "you dont want us to do your downlights, too expensive. You dont want us to do your sliding doors, too expensive" - i couldnt work out wether he was incredibly honest or incredibly odd.... Re: Anyone building with Blueprint? 4Aug 26, 2013 8:06 am I had a chat with a guy from Residential 101 who showed me through the CAD Software Amazing going through a 3D tour of the house, seeing how the shadows would fall as the sun went over the property Viewed it from different angles etc Asked Dale Alcock Homes for similar... but no joy, too hard basket I think Re: Anyone building with Blueprint? 5Sep 10, 2013 2:28 am Some of my new neighbours built with blue print and reported a great experience andvthe only issue raised was quickly resolved. They said they received weekly updates and photos and regular site meetings to see progress. Other friends of mine are now looking at blueprint and have reported great sales service. I can not recommend more than that other thsn I do recommend you keep clear of 101 Residential. I almost lost my block of land because plans were not done at agreed time for unconditional bank approval for land. They laid my slab wrong snd buried rubbish on my site. 2 and half months after reporting issues they still havent fixed them and my building has stopped for past 6 weeks. They will not put what they say they will do in writing because they do not deliver. Poor service and poor practice. I would suggest anyone over 101 and I have only heard goid things about blueprint to date. Re: Anyone building with Blueprint? 6Sep 16, 2013 8:01 am Gemmil and Blueprint were our 2nd & 3rd choices, we even considered 2 storey but couldn't find anything suited to a large block without being custom Re: Anyone building with Blueprint? 7Sep 17, 2013 12:12 pm Thanks for your input guys. We have got friends building with 101 and they are a bit unhappy with the progress so far. We are signing up with Blueprint next week Re: Anyone building with Blueprint? 8Sep 18, 2013 9:47 am Their add's worked well our 7 year old kept telling us to get a Blueprint home as they're bigger Re: Anyone building with Blueprint? 9Sep 18, 2013 12:21 pm Blueprint was originally one of our top choices, but not once we met with the rep. We basically had two plans which we wanted to merge together and make various changes to, but the guy we spoke to seemed more keen on selling us one of their standards plans and saying things like "why would you want a linen cupboard that big?". He wasn't willing to listen to what we actually wanted, so we went elsewhere. Wish you all the best. Once you signed the contract, they will find millions excuses to charge you. And have seen their sites unfinished for a long time. 4 24833 As title suggests, looking at using the interlocking Pentablock stacked stone products to replace failing timber retaining… 0 17878 |
