How accurate a reflection are the developers engineers reports supposed to be? I'm talking about the ones done prior to development showing fill levels and fall etc? I imagine there is a bit of leeway with how close the actual thing turns out but does anyone know the margin of error?
We have just received a $4k odd shock in our contract that wasn't in any of our other tenders which they are claiming is a result of the fall of the land being about double what the engineering we have says. They also knew about it for 2 weeks and didn't tell us until they delivered the contracts, despite us talking to the sales and estimating staff several times over that period
Is it worth getting our own survey (or however you determine levels) to make sure there really is such a big deviation from the plan, or should we just suck it up and cough up the extra.
Also, I had in writing that our site costs were fixed, prior to this. But they have labelled it "additional site costs" so its rendering their written word useless. Is that worth chasing up too?
