Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 10, 2013 12:19 am I did some searching through old forums but could not find my specific answer. At the recent Home Building and Renovators Expo in Melbourne I got quoted for a LUX ducted vacuum system. I am unfamiliar with them but they offer some impressive features. http://www.lux.com.au/page/8/Ducted_Vacuum_Cleaners.html -4 Year warranty on Unit and accessory's (even if you do the install) -Bag or Bag less -Filter in separate location to bag or container area for easy cleaning or replacing -Garage Point (on unit) -On/Off switch on hose -Supposedly the quietest unit on the market (would not believe this but at least it may be on the quieter side than most) Questions If anyone has had experience or knowledge on these (LUX Specifically)? If these features are really that great? (compared to other alternatives)? Or just another manufacturer that's better to go with? All taking the best price into account of course! Background 23 squares internal Require 3 points and the addition of the garage point is handy for cars Prefer a quieter unit May be willing to do own install if some feedback could be given on just how easy it is (most people claim its super easy) Would prefer to have install done depending on above answer? Price (For Non-LED Model, the Rep admitted that there is virtually no difference between the two and its just a gimmick to charge more for the item) On the day was told between $850 - $1000 for 23 Squares home (new build) with installation. Upon sending plan have been told $1150 without install This is disappointing but after getting feedback I am hoping to talk him down on the high end of his estimate of $1000 with install. But considering there have been people who have posted deals such as this: http://www.homesecurityonline.com.au/ducted-vacuum-1/hills-ducted-vacuum-super-specials/ducted-vacuum-hills-crystal-force-platinum-central-vacuum-1600-complete-kit.html For $619 plus install, comparing the 2 units may end up that I don't need to haggle for the LUX depending on the feedback you can provide me? I do not have specs on this unit to compare. LUX's site seems a tad worrying with not much information which is why I am looking for feedback before committing? The rep warned me the quote wont last long cause that's a promotional price because of the expo so please hurry with your responses because it is apparently worth a about $600 more and I'm definitely not going to be able to afford it at that much. Re: Lux ducted vacuum system feedback? Or better altenitives 2Aug 11, 2013 5:21 pm Hi,I used to do some cleaning for a lady that had a ducted vac system ,because she had allergies they are brilliant,I don't know what brand it is ,but it was so easy to use,had excellent suction power, much better than using a normal vac,she had about six points throughout, and hers was an older system to. I thought they would be really expensive, but they arnt that much dearer than a really good vacuum cleaner, hope this has helped you a little bit:-) brokers will also be in a position to get you a better rate than the advertised rate most times. 6 7559 As title suggests, looking at using the interlocking Pentablock stacked stone products to replace failing timber retaining… 0 17846 |
