I kept thinking it's going to be pretty embarrassing if our finance isn't approved lol! We still haven't had our prestart date confirmed and still not sure when our titles will be released I have emailed my Buzz Homes guy, but haven't heard back yet Building our first home in Jindowie Estate, Yanchep, WA with Buzz 1st Homes Re: Our First Home - Buzz 1st Homes - Yanchep, WA 22Oct 30, 2013 11:10 am Building our first home in Jindowie Estate, Yanchep, WA with Buzz 1st Homes Re: Our First Home - Buzz 1st Homes - Yanchep, WA 23Oct 30, 2013 11:11 am This is the front of our house, or at least how it will look I finally figured out how to post pics...go me! I'm a white and bright person, I'd be happy for every finish to be white and then accent with colour. My man on the other hand is a black person, the darker the better in his eyes. So being a good missus I've had to let him make some decisions and I have been surprised to find myself actually liking his choices. I figure if it's too dark I can have light walls and light accents. We have chosen quite dark colours for the ensuite and kitchen, but have stuck to light and bright for the kids bathroom and laundry. The lady we had dealing with us there was sooo patient and she put up with us (and our kids) running a muck in their showroom and helped us with our decision all the way. I cannot recommend them enough. We originally were sent to Imported Ceramics and not only were we not 100% happy with our choices, but their customer service was crap and the girl couldn't get rid of us quick enough. The photo is quite dark, but the colours are actually nice and light and clean looking, which I love! One row of tiles for our splashback, which we will add to eventually, because one row is just silly! And yes, we are having a black benchtop (eeeek!) If I had of found a white that I loved I would have stuck to my guns, but we get natural finish laminex and any white in that finish just looked rough and dirty, so I'm happy with the dark. I plan on having lots of white fruit bowls etc to get my white fix though Building our first home in Jindowie Estate, Yanchep, WA with Buzz 1st Homes Re: Our First Home - Buzz 1st Homes - Yanchep, WA 31Oct 30, 2013 11:44 am Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Onto our floors. We had vinyl lino included as standard, but when we went to Trevor's Carpets and saw the range we knew there and then we were going to be upgrading from that crap straight away! THey told us that we would be looking at about $60 per square metre to upgrade to these laminate floorboards. We were tossing up between these two for so long and actually chose the lighter at first, but when we took the sample home and left it on the floor for a few days we realised that it was a bit too browny to go with our grey theme throughout the house. So we changed to the darker and I love it soooo much. It's officially our favourite part of the house so far <3 Building our first home in Jindowie Estate, Yanchep, WA with Buzz 1st Homes Re: Our First Home - Buzz 1st Homes - Yanchep, WA 32Oct 30, 2013 11:47 am Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ And our gorgeous carpet, which matches PERFECTLY with our floorboards Building our first home in Jindowie Estate, Yanchep, WA with Buzz 1st Homes Re: Our First Home - Buzz 1st Homes - Yanchep, WA 33Oct 30, 2013 11:48 am The carpet was in our standard range, but we did upgrade the underlay so it's extra plush! It was only about $12 a square metre, so well worth it for good carpet under your tootsies I think. Do you have laminate flooring where you are now? Its one of those things that people either love or hate ....sorry i love the look but hate the feel and squeak of them under foot. I am hoping to upgrade to Vinyl strips/planks, still get the wood look but last longer and no squeak Your elevation is very snazzy , it maybe a little place but its going to look fab ! Re: Our First Home - Buzz 1st Homes - Yanchep, WA 36Oct 30, 2013 4:13 pm I grew up with vinyl lino and I was constantly ripping it and hiding it from my mother lol! So no matter what I knew I didn't want lino. The laminate had a much better colour selection, but I have heard it shows the wear and tear more than the other. With my 1 year old boy monster already wrecking EVERYTHING I figure no matter what I get he will destroy it eventually haha! Building our first home in Jindowie Estate, Yanchep, WA with Buzz 1st Homes Re: Our First Home - Buzz 1st Homes - Yanchep, WA 37Oct 30, 2013 4:31 pm I grew up with the sheet Lino and when I suggested vinyl for the floor to my other half he nearly fell over! But we checked out the vinyl planks at Trevor's and loved them. Everyone who comes into our house thinks we have real wood. If your going the wood laminate make sure they but good underlay underneath or the hollow noise will drive you crazy! Before we found our flooring my only experience with it was the stuff they rolled out! And the thought of it was not at all appealing!
