Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 07, 2013 11:15 am Hi all, I'm looking for some advice or tips on where to best spend my limited "finishing off" dollars. Floors - I have about 100m2 of hard floors and 100m2 of carpets. So, solid timber or large glossy tiles? or bamboo? (Hoping to keep it to around $100 m for the hard floor and carpet, but if I can do the carpet more cheaply, then I can increase the hard floor costs). We have two large doorways out to the alfresco. (one of 3m and one of 4.5m). Currently both sliding doors, but I could upgrade to stacker doors, if I maybe forgo the stone benchtops in the bathrooms and laundry. So, stone or stacker doors? Outdoors - paving, poured limestone, or any other cost effective options? We get about 60m of a basic square paver with the build, should we just continue with this around the pool and the rest or the garden? I'm getting a little worried about the final budget, so am looking for options that will look good, not date too quickly, and are not going to blow the bank. I'd love some tips on what you have all decided on..... and approximate costs. I need to get to the shops and look, but whilst stuck at work I thought I'd put it out there for the Homeone experts!
