Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 06, 2013 4:55 pm Hi everyone. We're considering buying a semi-rural block in southside Brisbane (Burbank, Chandler, etc.). Has anyone done this or does anyone know where to start? We have so many questions: - How do you figure out what you're allowed to build and where? Blocks in these suburbs are all under environmental protection and are in a reservoir catchment area too. Who do we approach to give us solid, reliable advice? - Once we figure out what and where we're allowed to build, how do we find out what it would cost to prepare the block, that is, clear the building zone? - Then, how do we price service connections? That is, power, sewerage, water (we are only considering blocks with access to these). So yeah, love the idea of living on acreage with natural bushland around, but how do we find out what we're up for? PM me if you need help. cheers 1 2470 I’m curious about how you went with this. We are planning a KDRB and considering Plantation Homes as a builder.
