Hi, just a quick question.....
We are building a new house, the builder's deposit was paid at the end of May. The building contract is a standard HIA contract (VIC). In the contract it states that there are two permits required to start building. One contract is allowed up to 30 days from the deposit handover, the other permit is up to 60 days from handing over the deposit.
It's now been about 74 days since we paid the deposit and they still haven't started. What's the deal here?
I would have assumed a contract means you have to do things by the time it states in the contract....otherwise why have one?
Yes, we have called the builder and all they say is that they "might" start in August however it's not likely. I don't want to arc up and pi$$ them off before they even start. Where do we stand on this?
