Meeting now booked for 18th, we were advised the cabinets will all be in by then, fingers crossed Re: Aveling build in Carramar 62Sep 10, 2013 10:20 am Hey, munkeys, we are at almost exactly the same stage still Some of our cabinets went in yesterday, although we don't have an exact date for SS tile meeting and walk through yet... Very happy with our cabinets so far, no scratches. We had the wrong front doors delivered so we just have some temporary ones up at the moment as our correct ones are still a couple of weeks away (wood stained, like yours but in aveling medium?). Oh, and we've had some painters come in and do a first spray on our doors and architraves (not the glossy white paint, just the white primer). The guys who sprayed the outside eaves and ceilings did a good job, except they didn't remove all the black tape form the window frames, and instead just painted over it....so as a result some of the eaves have been missed as when you peel the tape off there's no paint underneath??! Hopefully that was just a first pass and not the finished product (in their minds), because I'm not happy with it. But before I jump up and down I'll check with our SS to see if they intend to come back and this is just common practice. There was three utes parked at the front this morning so hopefully I will have some cabinets to look at today they are fixing our window in the kitchen, was put in at the wrong height. I can't wait to see the cabinets in and the kitchen done, it's starting to feel like a real house, getting excited gain. Aveling said the cabinets would be done before our meeting on the 18th so I hope that means the kitchen too so yours should be done also Re: Aveling build in Carramar 66Sep 11, 2013 11:56 am And I spied TWO baths for you, Munkeys! Lucky you! I would have loved to have a bath in each bathroom....luxury Our thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64272 Purchased land August '12 Titles Jan 27 '13 Prestart - Jan '13 Re: Aveling build in Carramar 67Sep 11, 2013 3:46 pm Congrats Munkeys!!! I'm hoping to do a drive by our block tomorrow and praying for some activity... But not too positive about that! Be sure to let me know if you see anything Re: Aveling build in Carramar 68Sep 11, 2013 4:38 pm Its so exciting when u see the cabinets! U start to see how your choices are coming together! Have u started weaning the kids away from u at night yet? Maybe u and your partner should start sleeping in the living room so they can get used to u not sleeping with them. We are putting all 3 of our kids in the same room at the new house. I figure i can close off the 2 spare rooms and there will only be one room for the kids to trash! My build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64437 Re: Aveling build in Carramar 69Sep 12, 2013 12:36 pm Had to have my spa bath momomo, nothing better than a bath, book and glass of wine. Will be nice to have a drink again, been over a year since I had a drink, might wait until I get the keys Still looking for you WildwoodDream, I've been driving past every day this week, trying to peek inside my house but its usually raining or tradies are there. Not yet Tracy, my brother inlaw and gf sleep in the living room. It's getting pretty squishy in the bed so I think they will like a bed to themselves again. Hoping to get some pics today, painters were at the house yesterday, I'm pretty sure the cabinet maker has been there this week. Re: Aveling build in Carramar 70Sep 13, 2013 2:08 pm Ooooh, can't wait for pics! Not much to update on, painters were there and the WIR shelves are complete so I assume the WIP and WIL are also done. I though I might have some cabinets but no. Aveling called the DH though on Friday wanting the tiles delieverd ASAP, they are scheduled for this Wednesday but they want them sooner but we can't get them delivered any sooner so aveling asked if they could collect. They have a tiler who wants to start ASAP. I just hope they don't rush things now. They told us when booking the meeting that they wanted a later date so the cupboards could be done and we would have more to look at, I would prefer a delay and have the work done properly than a rush job just to show us stuff. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 18578 You can really use anything you want the main consideration would be how it looks once painted/finished - or the look you want. Cabinetmakers use MDF because its cheap… 2 10126 |
