Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 77Mar 12, 2014 6:56 pm Hi guys! We are building in Brooks Reach down on the south coast. We are building the Altona Media entertainer. It's been a fairly drawn out process for us. We put deposit on our land in December 2012, it registered in November 2013 after a 4 month delay, we signed our building contract on 21 December and turned soil on 4 February . Our slab was finally poured last week - exactly 4 weeks after soil was turned. I couldn't believe the delay there and no explanations offered other than we should be grateful to be where we are at. I'm told our supervisor who takes over from fre stage is awesome and well organised. So hopefully progress will improve. Frames are meant to be delivered tomorrow so that is exciting. I hope everyone's builds are coming along nicely and your experiences with allworth have been good. ____________________________________________ Building the Altona Media Entertainer with Allworth Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 78Mar 12, 2014 7:14 pm Welcome kylez That's too much delay, mine started as per scheduled but unnecessary delayed when bricks, gyprock installation, not happy about the delay. Christmas close down only 3 weeks but I got a contract extension 7 weeks. Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 79Mar 12, 2014 7:54 pm Kylez+Mitch2 Hi guys! I've been having a sticky at the brooks reach thread, I think our slabs were done the same day, (wed). Must say communication is below par. I'm still yet to hear from allworth that they have done my slab. Only got a call asking if we wanted to measure the piers. Still no call since to let me know how many metres the piers went, or an invoice for the first payment... Lucky my neighbour who is building up there is keeping me updated! You can call me Chris! We got given an estimated time for when the slab would be poured it just so happened hubby was working down that way and drove past as they were pouring the slab. That afternoon we got a call from south coast office advising we had to pay the invoice sent to us a few weeks ago. All other info we get us from driving past and speaking with the tradies. Its crazy and makes you wonder how they can run a business. Where abouts in BR are you building? Which allworth? I know there is one being built on BR road but they don't have a slab yet. Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 74688 I would never build with Fowler homes.
