Very slow admin, very basic inclusions, worst supervisors overloaded with work. Mine said he had 25 projects, no track of whats happening at each stage, no direct contact with ur supervisor, etc. My friend built with metricon had wonderful experience at each stage. Much more professional team with better procedures and explain you better. He paid a little extra for excellent incusions and much better quality. Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 2052Jan 20, 2016 5:52 pm Waiting waiting waiting for Construction Certificate still. Get me out of admin already! Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 2053Jan 25, 2016 6:45 pm Still more waiting. Of course tomorrow is a public holiday so another day of nothing. Even after the CC I still have to send it to the bank for them to do their business, sign the contract again, get the authority to commence construction and wait another 20 days. So perhaps construction will begin next January. Getting pretty damn over this. Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 2054Jan 25, 2016 8:26 pm SancHarmony Still more waiting. Once construction starts they finish it faster than other builders.. I'm just bummed out seeing other houses going up in my estate while I'm still stuck in admin. I pushed everything through on my side as fast as possible and I'm held up waiting for someone to tick and flick a piece of paper. We're expecting a baby in August as well so I'm going to have one upset, heavily pregnant wife if this doesn't all go to plan. Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 2056Jan 27, 2016 9:15 am Hi guys, it sounds like we are all experiencing a lot of frustrations! Our handover day is a week away and I can't actually see it happening. For us to book the bank in for their valuation inspection we need the final account and they also need the occupancy certificate to release the funds. Conveniently everyone responsible for getting this at Allworth had a few extra days off this week! The bank needs 5 business days to organise things on their end, so unless their is some miracle I can't see it happening next week at all! This is also not to mention that we need tiling re-done and are waiting on a couple of other things to be fixed or finished before we can hand over the cheque! Grrrrrrrrr!!! Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 2057Jan 28, 2016 12:10 pm Hey Everyone, I just discovered the great discussion going on here about building with Allworth! My wife and I are building a Harmony Guest and are at the approval stage. We've decided to do a lot ourselves after handover, including the flooring. We're having bamboo flooring in the living areas and carpet in the bedrooms but haven't settled on exactly what brand/company we are going with, though we have a few quotes. We were only told the other day that Allworth need to know the exact timber floor thickness so they can design the kitchen cabinets to suit. At the moment we can't give them an number because we haven't decided on the floor we want. The best we can do is go with the thickest floor we thick we may go with but if we decide to use a thinner floor we're afraid we'll have ugly gaps under the doors and kitchen cabinets. Has anyone else been in a similar situation? What did you do? Thanks Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 2058Jan 29, 2016 8:25 am Hi x-ray I built the Harmony Entertainer and installed timber flooring after handover. Allworth never asked about the thickness of the flooring the only person who did was the tiler so he knew how high to tile the thresholds at the front and internal garage doors. The thickness of the flooring should not affect the kitchen cupboards unless you are having cupboards that go completely to the ground with no kickboard. Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 2059Jan 29, 2016 9:11 am Has anyone who has finished made the final payment out of their own funds? I'm losing faith in my bank being ready for next week and wonder if it'll speed things up if we just pay and have them reimburse us. The bank should then theoretically be able to conduct their valuation inspection at their leisure? We are with NAB. Bank did a final valuation and deposit that balance amount in to my bank account. I think bank take less than 2 weeks to release the fund. Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 74709 I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending.
