Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 1995Nov 27, 2015 11:05 pm jess_93 Our frame and Windows are finished which they did in less than 3 days. Can anyone tell me how long it takes for them to complete a colorbond roof? I'm hoping we will have some bricks started before they close for Christmas. Our roof was done in one day but a whole month after our bricks were started. The frame was almost 3 weeks before that! In saying that we've had a whole lot of bad luck and bad management! I'm hoping none of you who are yet to start experience what we have. Our original contract end date had us finished today, and we have had only a 2 week extension. It's unlikely we'll be in until Jan/Feb. Today's update, doors delivered! They're sitting in piles in the main bedroom Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 1996Nov 28, 2015 11:42 am jetizo jess_93 Our frame and Windows are finished which they did in less than 3 days. They're sitting in piles in the main bedroom OWww Shame you have had a tough run would have been a good Xmas present to be finished now, It's a problem relying on other people getting anything done, will get worse now with 28 days to Xmas the last minute rush then holidays, Some builds seam to move along really well others like yours drag out, We are more isolated than yourself SOooo not expecting any miracles and I Hope everyone here has a good Xmas. Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 1997Nov 29, 2015 9:24 pm Has anyone had any trouble with Allworth putting a down pipe on the front of the house when you have a half bricked post and timber top? I am not sure why they think this is ok. We are supposed to be putting stone on our post after handover but I can't see how that will be possible now they have done this. It is going to look horrible especially with the timber top to our post. We drove all around our area today and nobody else has a downpipe on this sort of post so it isn't something they have to do.We are really unhappy. Just seems like every other builder has thought about what it is going to look like visually when they have made the decision on the downpipes. They said it is as per housing standards of aus. None of other houses have that. It looks ugly. We will have to live with it. We wouldn't worry as much if our post was just solid brick but because it is supposed to be half stone half timber the downpipe is really going to stand out, especially at the to where the timber is. We wouldn't even mind if they put it in the corner on the house rather than the post. Surely that is also aus standards. Don't know why so many other builders aren't following aus standards then. Gaggy did they just say flat out no? When we had previously asked tabout the position of downpipes they said something like they will just work out site. Surely if they had to follow a set rule they would know before the build where they all had to go. Thats what they mentioned when I asked them the down pipe on the front pillar was not mentioned in my plans. I feel your pain as it is a bigger problem than mine. Mine was just cosmetic. We signed the contracts and cut our hands for the location of down pipes. But I think it is common sense. I have not seen any house flooding from heavy rain. Not sure why it is required. I wont be recommending AW to my friends or known ones for sure. Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 76780 I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending.
