Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 1382May 31, 2015 4:29 pm Ok cool, I'll have a look we are going through Maitland council so hopefully they are quick Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 1383Jun 01, 2015 4:40 pm I went to the house expecting the outside painting to be done. But they havnt started the down pipes or doors or the wood above the roller doors. Hopefully it will be done tomorrow. Hows your house going chris. Is it still set for handover on wed? Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 1384Jun 01, 2015 5:05 pm Tina, no handover is Thursday now, internal clean is tomorrow, external cleanup on Wednesday and Thursday morning is house inspection by Allworth so hopefully will have the keys Thursday afternoon. Still have not received final invoice so will have to ring Accounts again tomorrow. Do you think yours is still on track for 12th. Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 1385Jun 01, 2015 5:24 pm At least its only 1 day delayed. I think so, as long as the weather is fine they shouldnt have problems with the septic pipework. Everything was booked in except for the carpet so hopefully wayne got that sorted. The painting should be finished tomorrow then the plumber comes wed and the electrician on thursday. I cant remember everything else he said. Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 1387Jun 01, 2015 6:22 pm Hi guys I was thinking to get a building inspector at slab stage and final stage. I spoke to construction manager at Allworth and he told me they dont allow that as a private certifier will already do that on our behalf. They have paid certifier and certifier will inspect at each stage. I am paying him extra visit after finalising the driveway. Const. Manager also said it is waste of money due to private certifier doing it anyway. Certifier is an independent company , so I should trust them and get reports on handover. Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 1388Jun 02, 2015 9:32 am hi everyone it has been a while since my last blog we have final finished with the bank and have the letter to start construction yay we are so excited i cant wait to see our beautiful home go up just wanted to know is it 20 days after the allworth have the letter including weekends or is it within 20 days thankyou everyone Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 1390Jun 02, 2015 10:08 am Thank you Chris we are so excited i just hope we get to be in before Xmas as it stands its mid November with no delays but i have been reading allot and it looks like delays are going to be expected Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 1391Jun 02, 2015 11:01 am We get to do our walk through in one hour but now just found out off the bank it could take 10 days for the cheque, I'm pretty pd off now. thought I would have the keys today Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 1392Jun 02, 2015 12:18 pm kellys-new-home We get to do our walk through in one hour but now just found out off the bank it could take 10 days for the cheque, I'm pretty pd off now. thought I would have the keys today Sad to hear that Kelly. That is the worst thing when you know you can move in and bank comes in as a monster. Keep following up with bank. Our build will start in 20 working days from now as well. I was wondering, once Allworth starts how many days they take to put the slab and when did we get the invoice for first payment? -Does Allworth stop the work until they have received the payment? -How much time normally banks take to pay payments after we have submitted a request to them? Sorry for too many questions, but will appreciate if anyone can answer. I hope your walk through goes well. Have you received your final invoice? We received ours 2 weeks ago & sent it off to our bank. They went last Thursday for the valuation & I'm waiting to hear from our broker if we will have the cheque by Friday. Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 1394Jun 02, 2015 12:51 pm Our site works started on 23rd jan and our slab was done on 4th feb. It rained abit between so it took abit longer. No they dont stop work. Id imagine they would if you took months to pay it. It depends on your with how long it takes to pay it. Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 1395Jun 02, 2015 12:55 pm Gaggy Hi guys I was thinking to get a building inspector at slab stage and final stage. We were told you can't have a private inspector. Allworth delete it out of the contract. I think if you want to spend the extra money getting your own inspector you should be allowed to as the private certifer is paid by Allworth & not you & they do not report to you. I'm pretty sure you will not get any reports after handover. Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 1396Jun 02, 2015 1:06 pm I am due to have handover on Thursday but have not received the final invoice. Emailed Sara again this morning and apparently they were waiting to receive an invoice from one of the subcontractors. I have calculated the final amount and told her I would transfer that amount tomorrow so it does not hold up handover but I will have to wait and see what she comes back with. Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 1397Jun 02, 2015 1:57 pm Went to site at lunchtime, site fence has been removed but portaloo is still there and outside has been cleaned up. Cleaners were inside so was able to have a good look around and am really happy with everything, The only things left to do inside is the silicone in all the wet areas and one door handle to be installed on the new storage room door which was installed yesterday. Flyscreens were in the garage and they have to be installed also but I am not fussed about them not being done before handover they can do them anytime. Thanks for the response Tina and it is a relief that they don't stop the work. Good luck with your move in and will have a look at the blogs. Did not get a chance to update mine or look others from last few weeks. Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 1399Jun 02, 2015 2:24 pm mel+rob We were told you can't have a private inspector. But Allworth homes advised me that you can call the certifier and can get the reports. So I would say to call and get it either in emails or post.
