Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 342Jul 08, 2014 4:55 am Love that design, we can't have it due to our block shape, we have been to a lot of builders, we wanted single storey but it seems too much. I've just seen harmony countryside that someone posted on allworth Facebook page, that one fits! Too much decisions Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 343Jul 08, 2014 3:28 pm 80k wow thats a lot!we are just going to add alfresco 12.5k, 3rd garage 8k,aircon 13k,stairs 5k, then i budgeted 5k for the rest like taps & niche, our site cost is about 44k including bushfire. Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 344Jul 08, 2014 5:41 pm Haha the add ons calculate quickly!! We finally moved in on the weekend, so are still unpacking whilst now having a 2 hour journey to work, but worth it. Best thing about today was handing over the keys to our old rental property!!! Once the place looks like a bomb hasn't hit it I'll post some more pics. Have to say I am super thrilled with the end result. We have had a couple of tiny issues after handover and our ss has just been brilliant and quick at getting things done! Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 345Jul 08, 2014 7:58 pm woohoo that must be a great feeling casabonka! we have been confused big time which house to choose. Just worried about bank valuation if it goes to the roof, upgrades here & there all adds up. Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 346Jul 09, 2014 9:43 am We upgraded heaps, in the kitchen polyurethane no handles, undermount sink, freestyle bench tops, added 2 x 900 pot drawers either side of the oven & a microwave cupboard with a drawer under it, kitchen tap. 2.7 ceilings so we could have a 2.4 high garage door, one garage door instead of 2. Increased the tiles to the ceilings in the ensuite, main bathroom & powder room, upgraded all showers & baths, all taps, all vanities added drawers to vanities, niches to all showers, polished edge mirrors. The stairs are stained maple. I hate carpet on the stairs Increased all the robes in the bedrooms. upgraded the paint to 3 coat. Upgraded bricks Alarm, nbn, airconditioner, termimesh, instantaneous gas hot water, insulation, skirting boards & architraves. Extra toilet in the laundry Porch to the front We had to do an under eave extension on one side & a pier on the other side because we cant have any straight walls over 10m. We are upgrading all powerpoints to double, putting an extra double power point in all the bedrooms, surround sound in the media room. Just a few upgrades lol but we don't plan to move again. Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 347Jul 09, 2014 9:46 am That great news Casabonka, it feels like we will never get there. Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 348Jul 09, 2014 10:53 am Mel+rob, your upgrade sounds great. Made me think if we have to upgrade the ceilings then, what's the usual garage door height, I thought its 2400, oh dear I'm in trouble! Can I please ask how much was your brick upgrade & what brick did u go for? Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 349Jul 09, 2014 11:24 am The garage door height is 2.1m which is too low for our van. I didn't want to spend all this money on the house & not be able to park my car in the garage. It will be fine if you have a standard car. 2.1m garage door heights are I think are standard in most houses. We chose boral blackheath bricks. It took us months of driving round looking a houses to choose. We have be given a provisional allowance of $2350 for the standard plan. Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 350Jul 09, 2014 11:27 am We also extended the garage to 6 meters. But I lost half a meter in the laundry. Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 353Jul 09, 2014 11:49 am dcox, yes it is a colour thru brick. We upgraded the facade to the waterford portsi but kept the classic windows. I will try & scan the plans tomorrow at work. rajy13, we are building the crescendo Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 357Jul 09, 2014 12:09 pm The only difference between the classic facade windows & mine is the middle windows. My middle windows are smaller to fit the porch. It's costing us 6660. Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 359Jul 09, 2014 1:02 pm We haven't got an updated quote since we made the change. I'm hoping to resolve issues with paint choices, which is very limited even though I have upgraded until then my other variations can not be sent to head office. They are waiting on these to give me an updated quote.
