They also advised we were getting a credit back on storm water drainage connection. Yay Our problem is our sewer connection, our quote we signed says the cost was fixed but they want to charge us $640 extra. I didn't think they could do that. ____________________________________________ Building the Altona Media Entertainer with Allworth Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 229Apr 02, 2014 6:48 pm No they cant,,if it was written on ur quote provisional then yes,,but fixed no,,i would b asking the question,,,they will try,,you have to keep on top of it My blogg attempt http://allworthnewbuild.blogspot.com.au/ Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 230Apr 02, 2014 6:52 pm They are **. It just didn't make sense. Thank Ann I will call them tomorrow. I can't believe they would try it when you are already spending so much plus there is a 20% builders levy on top. ____________________________________________ Building the Altona Media Entertainer with Allworth Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 231Apr 02, 2014 7:04 pm Kylez+Mitch2 We received a letter from allworth today advising the additional cost of our piering. How much extra piering you got! you didn't fixed?? Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 232Apr 02, 2014 7:11 pm They had allowed 80 lm and we ended up with 98.8. So they have charged us $65 per extra lm as well as extra for the concrete. ____________________________________________ Building the Altona Media Entertainer with Allworth Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 233Apr 02, 2014 7:12 pm We were told 80 would be plenty and we didn't have the option to fix I don't think. ____________________________________________ Building the Altona Media Entertainer with Allworth Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 234Apr 02, 2014 7:16 pm If you have H class with filling on site, sure piering will go higher Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 235Apr 02, 2014 7:50 pm We have H1 class which I'm not worried about the extra piering but the sewer connection which was a fixed cost. ____________________________________________ Building the Altona Media Entertainer with Allworth Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 236Apr 02, 2014 8:40 pm Did you paid extra for fixed sewer connection? if you fixed in tender time, you no need to pay any extra for sewer!! Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 237Apr 03, 2014 6:26 am I don't know it was always a fixed price even at quote confirmation when we paid the deposit. ____________________________________________ Building the Altona Media Entertainer with Allworth Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 238Apr 03, 2014 7:13 am We got hit with about $300 extra for our sewer also, I have to go back through our price and confirm that also. On a positive note we have brickies on site! on a negative note, we cant have a flush mortar join to the bricks we chose (you think they would know this sooner) so we have to have a iron raked join. Not really fussed at the end of the day - I dont think people will comment on the mortar join! haha You can call me Chris! Ours ironed Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 240Apr 03, 2014 7:30 am the edge of the bricks have a tapered edge, so a flush mortar join would go from 10mm up to about 15mm. We just went with their advice to do ironed. They wanted me to head up today, but being 2 hours away with work commitments is a bit hard! These guys are the experts, so I'm happy to take their advice You can call me Chris!
