So far it is still staying up so that's good. outside patio/alfresco area is still the same. oh well. Re: Here we go- and go and go and go 571Jan 27, 2014 11:42 am Hi kexkez, your house is lovely. I hope you don't mind me asking but I read in another thread that you got the Futura Eco fan/lights from Beacon Lighting - I was hoping you might be able to let me know what you think of them? I can only find a handful of reviews on the web from disgruntled customers so they're all negative. The main things I'd like to know is if they are relatively quiet, the light is decent (for a kid's bedroom), and if there is good speed levels (in our rental at the moment the cheapo fan has LOWEST, LOW and BLASTING FAST as the three options!). Hehehe. Thanks so much if you're able to give any opinion/review. Build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65085 Re: Here we go- and go and go and go 572Jan 27, 2014 12:13 pm Ah we find it very good. The boys have the non eco version which isn't as bright. We do have airconditioning as well but over the past week or two when it's been really hot we've had it running as well as the air con to keep air circulating. We tend to keep it on the medium speed. yes fast is fairly fast. slow is okish. they are fairly quiet. I would think on high they'd be a bit noisy for sleeping and probably too breezy. Medium and slow are fine for sleeping. The light on futura eco is fine for a fairly standard double room sized bedroom our main bedroom is almost triple size and it's just ok although for reading at night i tend to turn on a bedside lamp as well. The kids and the games room have the non eco version and we've gone through a few globes on the one in the kids rooms and the one in the games room area for the same reason( teenage boys love leaving lights on. ( around $4.20 to replace from bunnings) I guess really not more often than other lights. The eco one hasn't been replaced at all yet. (4 years down the track) We did have an issue with one faulty fan early on and getting it repaired by one their preferred sparky was a pain being so far from a Beacon store. ( there's now one 35 kms away but it wasn't there at the time so nearest was 150kms away) So if you aren't too close to a store this might be something to consider. We'd happily buy it again. so I guess that's really the kind of recommendation you need. http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=6634&p=377816&hilit=Futura+Eco#p377816 Re: Here we go- and go and go and go 573Jan 28, 2014 5:06 pm Thanks heaps kexkez! That's just the kind of info I was after. It's so hard making such expensive and important decisions totally based on the look and sales pitch, very nerve wracking! It would be horrible to end up with 7 fans that annoyed the buggery out of us! Thanks again heaps.
