Good to hear about the verges, but thought they might've waited until it's all settled down a bit so they don't get trashed, particularly our side as we don't have a footpath. You've worried me about the trees, but I'm sure they've been picked for a reason and shouldn't be too much of a hinderance. Can't believe it's all about to start for us, looking forward to joining what I reckon will be a great little community. Good to hear about the verges, but thought they might've waited until it's all settled down a bit so they don't get trashed, particularly our side as we don't have a footpath. You've worried me about the trees, but I'm sure they've been picked for a reason and shouldn't be too much of a hinderance. Yeah, they were planning on waiting but expected more people to be building straight away... the original plan was 6 months after initial settlement, so Sept/October, but a few peoples builds haven't gone ahead and they (Walker) have sold up to CIC who are the developers for Lightsview, they're taking over the future stages, so I think as part of the contract they needed to complete what was outstanding a bit earlier. All the other stages had their verges in and tress in straight away, and most of them are all ok. We were the only ones they thought about delaying it for... The trees concerned us as well, but they are quite beautiful... so I guess we'll just have to see! Princess Jasmine How's it all coming along Deluxes? Well last night was the only night we haven't been past in ages! We got carried away shopping and just decided to head home... Hubby has the day off today and is heading out there this morning to meet with our landscaper to walk around and discuss plans. So no doubt i'll get an update in a few hours. I am actually having withdrawals from not seeing it... hehehe Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=66299 Slab: 16/6/14 Frame: 4/7/14 Roof: 22/7/14 Lock Up: 20/8/14 Fixing: 26/8/14 PCI: 9/10/14 Handover: 20/10/14 Re: Simonds Sierra in SA - lock up early this week :-) 904Aug 15, 2014 10:16 am You must hang out for the weekends so you can go and see the progress. How lucky you can get a landscaper to do your gardens I'm sure it will all look amazing Re: Simonds Sierra in SA - lock up early this week :-) 905Aug 15, 2014 10:30 am I do like seeing it in the daytime come weekends, that's for sure My nightly drop ins tide me over, but I do hang out for Saturdays and sundays Yeah, he's been really helpful. He's doing our deck and pergola and creating the garden beds, lawn and doing the site prep for us. We'll do the planting ourselves, but at least it'll all be ready to go. He's got some good ideas too, which has helped us work out some stuff Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=66299 Slab: 16/6/14 Frame: 4/7/14 Roof: 22/7/14 Lock Up: 20/8/14 Fixing: 26/8/14 PCI: 9/10/14 Handover: 20/10/14 Re: Simonds Sierra in SA - lock up early this week :-) 906Aug 15, 2014 10:38 am Awesome! Will you be doing it all as soon as you move in? Re: Simonds Sierra in SA - lock up early this week :-) 907Aug 15, 2014 10:43 am Hoping to... We are trying to get the plan for the deck/pergola nutted out today so plans can be drawn and it can got to council for approval. We want to do that part as soon as possible. It means our dogs will have a sheltered place to sit outside... haha all about them! The rest will be done after the concrete paths and driveways are laid (within 2 weeks of moving in) and planting we'll just go at our own pace. So mostly the form of it should be done within the first 6 weeks of being in there... I hope! Ha ha I know what you mean about dogs we have 1, however now we have 2 kids too so it's now all about the kids, the dog and then we come last lol Re: Simonds Sierra in SA - lock up early this week :-) 909Aug 15, 2014 10:54 am Oh yeah, great plan... lets see how well it gets executed!! haha THATS when it falls apart... Ahhh too true! you do wind up coming last don't you? If we didn't have the dogs the fencing wouldn't be as bigger priority first up, nor the deck, nor the pergola... but because of those hairy ratbags, all this stealth coordination is required Ohh but I do love them Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=66299 Slab: 16/6/14 Frame: 4/7/14 Roof: 22/7/14 Lock Up: 20/8/14 Fixing: 26/8/14 PCI: 9/10/14 Handover: 20/10/14 Re: Simonds Sierra in SA - lock up early this week :-) 910Aug 15, 2014 11:00 am Ha ha. I have 2 rescue pomeranians that had only ever lived in a cage and I got them when they were older. As such they only like to do their business on a concrete floor. Still trying to work out how to accommodate the little rascals in the new house. Luckily mine must know they're onto a good thing and aren't interested in wandering off so the side gate can wait. Yours will love their sheltered alfresco! Re: Simonds Sierra in SA - lock up early this week :-) 911Aug 15, 2014 11:07 am Ohh Joannek, those poor little things I hate hearing of any mistreatment of animals.. but am so glad to hear a nice person has given them a home where they are loved My Dachshund x only likes doing his business on dry surfaces. If the lawn is wet, he'll go on the path. Such a princess with his paws... Our girl, a Pug x - she's a piglet. Any dirt, any mud anywhere, she'll find it and sit in it. If it's raining she'll dawdle on the lawn getting saturated, where as the "Princess" who actually has a better, waxier coat suited to the rain and dries off better, hovers by the back door begging to come in. They are both crazy, but in very different ways! Ours generally stay close, but if our boy sees a rabbit, cat, other dog, food... he'll be off like a rocket. So containment is definitely needed ! Probably too big to pick up and plonk him on the wet grass ha ha. Re: Simonds Sierra in SA - lock up early this week :-) 913Aug 15, 2014 11:50 am He's about 11kg, so he's definitely portable! Not for long periods, )but he loves to be carried like a baby and hugged) He just looks horrified and runs straight back on to dry ground as soon as you plonk him down though... I let him out of the laundry door the other day, and it's wet concrete right up to the door almost on that side of the house when it's been raining, he did a full spin in the doorway trying to get back in, nearly knocking me over as soon as he realized it was wet. He's just a diva dog. He's a gigantic sook bag mummy's boy too, but turns into a ferocious, fearless hunter whenever he sees another animal... rodents, birds, cats.. He actually tried to go a horse through a fence once in his quest to be Alpha Dog, Yet toilet rolls and shopping bags terrify him? He does make us laugh though, such a clown Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=66299 Slab: 16/6/14 Frame: 4/7/14 Roof: 22/7/14 Lock Up: 20/8/14 Fixing: 26/8/14 PCI: 9/10/14 Handover: 20/10/14 Re: Simonds Sierra in SA - lock up early this week :-) 914Aug 15, 2014 11:53 am Ha ha that's hilarious Deluxes. Our stuffy x pretends he is so tough and mighty yet as soon as there is some wind he cries like a baby just to get inside and hide away from it. He is the biggest sook but if I saw him out on the street running towards me I would definitely run the other way (looks can be deceiving Re: Simonds Sierra in SA - lock up early this week :-) 915Aug 15, 2014 12:28 pm hehehe Princess Jasmine! I love Staffies... gorgeous dogs with hearts of gold. He sounds beautiful. I had an English Bull Terrier previously, he was exactly the same... looked like a big meanie, but was soft as butter. He used to pretend to shake and shiver at the back door so he could come in, even when it was summer. lol such a liar. Ha ha I know that well. Re: Simonds Sierra in SA - lock up early this week :-) 917Aug 15, 2014 7:09 pm Did someone say Staffies? https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=yFyD3KiGspU We had a Staffy (Ugly) and bully (Mutley) before Sid. Mutley was a total nutjob! Funny Dee, we did the Pal SelectaPet questionnaire and got recommended a Daschuand. We cracked up laughing, never considered them, but think they are awesome. But we now have Sid who people think is a Daschuand ... He's an ex RSPCA resident. They told me he's a cross Jack Russell/Rotweiller He has long body on two inch legs. Ugly was BEST dog ever (thanks AWL). Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Simonds Sierra in SA - lock up early this week :-) 918Aug 15, 2014 8:58 pm Awww so cute Tomcat!!! I love hearing of people rescuing animals, such a beautiful thing to do. Our next dogs will be rescues. Your dog Sid sounds hilarious, what a mix! He'd be adorable... Bullies are nuts... Hahahahahaha my boy (Bully, original name huh? Lol) was so lazy and uninterested in everything. Big ball of cuddles though Dachys are absolute riots, ours is crossed with a border terrier so he has longer legs and only a slight elongated body, but he looks more beagle like? Sort of.. Everyone thinks he's a puppy of some other bigger dog breed, his paws are huge but he's only little Love hearing about peoples dogs, their our family! The last of the bricks that we were short on arrived and they were busy installing the wire mesh into the weepholes to comply with Bal 12.5 requirements. Also fantastic for keeping critters out of your wall cavities Our waterproofing has also been done as well.
