Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Jul 25, 2013 9:56 am Hi guys, I just wanted to ask a question. We will be shower 1 floor waste in our laundry and 2 floor waste in our bathroom (1 in shower and 1 in the centre of the room). I wanted to know, when concretors are pouring for concrete slabs, does these two rooms has to be somewhat lower in level than other places around the house? I am confused because we will be having timber floor throughout the rest of the house except for the bathroom and laundry which will be tiled. But the thing is to install timber hardwood on concrete slab we will need plywood, aluminum foam underlay and then the timber floor itself. this will increase the floor level by approx 20cm or so. So if the bathroom will be reduced, does that mean we will need to step down? Is is necessary to have bathroom and laundry to drop in level during concrete pouring? or should the whole house be on the same level (except for garage of course). if we have the same level and given that all our others spaces will have a 20cm increase due to timber floor. for the bathroom and laundry can they do all the levelling and tiling and have it the same height as the tiles? Re: Drop in level for bathroom & laundry for floor waste? 2Jul 26, 2013 11:18 am Hi Melbbuild, First of all are you having a poly-marble shower base? Because if you are having a tiled recess shower you only need one floor waste in the bathroom. The slab should be poured level, so there won't be a step down, as you said once the flooring is complete it is higher then the slab, if your 20cm is correct then it should be more then enough for the tiler to create a fall to the drain using slurry. Hope this helps This is a very tight fit, I'm not sure if you'll be able to achieve what you've described. Would you consider accessing the separate toilet from the laundry? If so maybe… 1 11252 isn't a garage level with the rest of the house a given? pretty sure they 'came around' long time ago. if you have a flat block, the garage is usually level with the rest… 1 17525 Move your linen into laundry and access laundry from your present linen space 1 8007 |
