Have you been to the Austral display at Lalor; the sample walls are outside so you can go there any time for a squiz. Also ask your builder to give you the addresses of other houses they have built with the brick you are considering so you can go and do a bit of "stalking" If I recall correctly I originally chose "homestead red" but it was waaaay too orange for my liking when I saw a house built with it. I also looked at the Red Gum but can't remember why I didn't go with them. Eventually I settled on "Lawson" bricks which IMHO have a nice mix of brown, red & grey.
